Wait in Mass Effect there wasn’t enough.... other stuff? Lol
There wasn't enough gay alien sex obviously:

Underwhelming Gay Romance Options In Mass Effect: Andromeda Disappoint Many Fans

"Since it was released, Andromeda has been criticized about how it handles gay romance options, particularly for male characters. On neoGAF, Reddit, unofficial BioWare forums, and on Twitter, there are hundreds of pages of complaints, with many people accusing BioWare of treating gay romance as an “afterthought.”

I have no problem with gays. I have a problem with keeping tabs on a gay quota and complaining it's not 100% equal when bioware bent over backwards to appease sjw's. That's the problem with sjw's, it's never good enough, and they don't buy games; they just complain about them. My commander Shepard was a female lesbian in mass effect 2 for what it's worth.

But to say your character was lesbian in Mass Effect kind of works against your point, because the issue wasn't about lesbian options but gay male options -- in fact, there are more lesbian options for female Shepard than straight female options. Or in other words, there are plenty of female options throughout the series as a whole -- but few male options.

This issue that many people had with Andromeda was that it played up romances as part of it's marketing campaign; and literally people talked about just how much romance would play a role in the game. Then upon release, those wanting to play as a male gay character found out their options were pretty limited.

Those gamers (who bought the game obviously) complained that they thought the game was specifically marketed as inclusive to gay romance, and it turns out that this aspect of the game was either neglected or as it was put in the article "an afterthought."

So to say Bioware "bent over backwards," to me, makes no sense.. Like, according to who? How?? What makes you say this??

As a developer myself, I don't understand how someone could storyboard this out and not have some degree of realization that "oh wait .. there's less than a half as many options for gay male Shepard as there are for the other 3 potential Shepards, and the options that do exist aren't as interesting." Just looking at the romance dialogue tree would tip anyone off as to the issue -- so I'm not sure how you've come to conclude Bioware "bent over backwards..".

Lastly, when you say "SJWs" don't buy games, I have no idea what you mean by that? Like, who is an SJW to you, and who isn't and since when do these folks not buy video games? You act like there's protests in the streets -- people just want to be represented in the games they play .. social media gives them a voice to ask for that representation. That shouldn't bother you.

No, it doesn't work against me goury. You made it seem like I have a problem with gay people. As for the sjw pandering. Check out the NPC Hainly Abrams who's first line of dialogue is to inform you that (not sure proper pronoun!) is a trans. You know, just like in real life how people immediately confess to you upon handshake their sexual orientation or gender identity.

And they wonder why Mass Effect: Andromeda sold so poorly. They seemed more interested in checking diversity boxes instead of telling a coherent interesting story with good dialogue. I don't have any problems with trans people or gay people in games. I do have a problem with them checking boxes and doing everything they can to highlight it. It should be subtle and natural, not in your face pointing it out at every opportunity.

No, you just have a problem with gay people asking for representation in the products they buy, right?

You're literally proving my point, Ty; and it's amazing you don't realize it.

The Hainly scene is exactly what was wrong with Bioware's attempts at inclusiveness. It was insanely tone-deaf, unrealistic and hamfisted. No transperson would announce themselves in such a way; it just doesn't happen. Now if you want to call that "pandering" sure, but the way in which it was done was so half-assed, whereas other straight characters were at least somewhat realistically thought out.

You yourself seem to have noticed this, and yet -- you take issue with whomever you decide is an "SJW" instead of Bioware for fucking up this character? And you don't see the fault in that logic??

Let me put it another way -- should Hainly Abrams not exist in Mass Effect, or should Abrams' character never be known to be trans (and thus, not be trans), or.. should Bioware have done this correctly?

So whether or not it's pandering is kind of beside the point right? We're talking about representation, right? -- so is any form of representation pandering? For example, if they added a character, and he was Black, would that be pandering? Well, according to many, yes. Finn for example, was derided as "pandering" in Star Wars; but is that really your argument, or is it instead more about the quality of the representation of the character?

And they wonder why Mass Effect: Andromeda sold so poorly.

It sold poorly because it was a bad game, not because they had a scene with some poor dialogue from a trans NPC.

They seemed more interested in checking diversity boxes instead of telling a coherent interesting story with good dialogue.

Because you can't walk and chew bubble gum at the same time, right?

Like .. do you really believe a game that tries to be diverse will consequently have a less coherent storyline?

Lol..

For one, "in your face" is pretty relative don't you think? What you might consider "in your face" is not necessarily as such with others. But really the poor quality of representation is the exact problem the trans-community and LGBT community had with Andromeda... And yet, for some reason, you seem to be hung up on this notion that diversity is bad, SJWs are bad, SJWs don't buy games (wtf?), etc...

It's a weird mindset to have about video games, or really any sort of media product for that matter.

I’m glad we have you here to tell me how I think and what exactly I have a problem with. Maybe you should just post with a Great Pyrenees avatar from now on since you know exactly how I operate?

Maybe next time Ty, honestly, instead of peppering your posts with pejoratives about the SJW fifth columnists in the gaming community, just try to make a cogent argument.

I don't like blatant pandering either, especially if it breaks the immersive feel of the game. But your argument here just doesn't make sense. It's a regurgitation of some right-wing anti-SJW rhetoric that's more Gamergate than an actual critique of the game, or Bioware...

Nailed it

But wait... they don't really like actually buy the games right? Because if they did, then they'd .. I dunno .. have a right to voice their opinions about their purchase? .. hmm ..

They bought so many copies that EA put Mass Effect on ice.

Didn't have anything to do with the failures of Mass Effect though right? Like, you know, the game designers, programmers, QA teams, etc... EA is just some guy in a room that has a dial that says diversity on one end and $$$ on the other..
