The big argument used in the Newsday article says that Lebron's aspirations can only be achieved in a big market using big marketing. However, credible, CITED, sources in Brian's article, including freaking Maverick Carter, show that for the Lebron brand to succeed, a championship is a must.
I have said this all along, great article Stereo.
For Lebron to get where he wants to, he has to win multiple championsips. If Cleveland proves to be that place where he can achieve that, then he will stay. If it looks like he has better opportunities for a dynasty then he will leave. Right now, it looks like Ferry is making alot of smart moves to prepare this team to be clevelands first dynasty since Jim Brown's playing days. But, if for some reason it doesnt work out and Lebron leaves, I will understand and support his decision. Lebron deserves a championship...he is to good. He will be loyal to winning a title. I think cleveland can be that place though. Not sure how either ny or nj have a shot since their franchises are a mess and it takes more than 2 years to turn a team around. Boston began their turnaround several years ago with drafts. NY and NJ have very little young talent...especially NY.
