Barrett form is solid but slow. Reddish just looks like an elite NBA wing able to score and facilitate with ease. He passed the early season eye test

What is a facilitating (possibly non creating) NBA wing? Middleton? I'm struggling with a good comp for him.

I think Reddish has more than 3 AST potential (ceiling) like KM but he looks glued to the ground around the rim, which I think really limits him as a point / forward. It's rare for a guy to get point / forward duties at the NBA level that lacks ISO skill to beat his man off the dribble and finish over length.

Reddish is a guy I would like a hell of a lot more if Kyrie were still here. Someone who has off-ball gravity and can score off screens.....I like him less as a true lead man. If he shows marked ability to beat his man 1-on-1 off the dribble, as the year goes on, I could change my mind.

Reddish’s ability to beat his man 1 on 1 was considered his main strength coming out of high school. He’s a really good athlete, and really quick with the ball.

His shooting is questionable, as is his motor. That’s the main thing I think Barrett decisively has on him, the motor.

Maybe I am just missing film on him doing this. I mainly have seen him shooting 3’s or dribbling to shoot 3’s or long 2’s.

There isn’t much tape out there of him operating at the NBA level, where his ISO game looks translatable in the half court.

It’s certainly possible it is and he wasn’t appropriately challenged. I don’t have a lot of familiarity about the competition he played in HS, so I’m open to changing my mind.....but I just have yet to see tape of Reddish, with the scoring variety and NBA level finishing that Barrett displays.

Hopefully being around the culture at Duke, where guys do play really hard and compete will rub off on Reddish. I think it could stunt his growth a bit as a lead guy but in the long run, it could be more beneficial if he exits Duke with more of an edge.

Oh, his shot selection isn’t great, and he settles a lot. That’s the frustrating part about it.

When he’s wanted to get to the rim, he does so with ease.
 

Schmitz is going to be doing these pre-season videos on top 10 guys. Glad that he pointed out some of the defensive issues I noticed in their games in Canada.

Reddish = Rudy Gay

Bol Bol looks significantly more athletic than he did in the All-American.

Will he be able to play the 4?

Draft class looks sneaky good. Can't wait.
