Really no need for the Browns to involve themselves in this when they already have two starting-caliber backs. Hunt isn't a better overall RB prospect than Chubb by any means (without the injury, Chubb is an easy first rounder), and he's not a better receiver than Duke. Why would we get involved in this over a position that is our biggest strength?

Totally disagree. I don't think Kaep cost anyone shit. It only became a big deal because Trump tried to politicize the issue by lying about it and claiming Kaep was protesting the country and the army rather than what it was actually all about.

Kaep isn't playing because he was playing so bad Blaine Gabbert replaced him. If he was a capable starting QB, he'd still be in the league.

I think you are right if he was a capable starter that he would still be in the league. It's the same reason why I think Hunt will get picked up off waivers. He is a top 3-5 RB in his prime with years left to plays.

If Kaep didn't take a knee, he probably would be a backup somewhere though. There are some real bad backup QBs out there and Kaep could come in and win a game with just his legs. Derek Anderson still has a job in the NFL and the Packers gave us Randall for Kizer.

If he was an 8 or above? A cam newton or phillips river like figure? Sure. We're not having this conversation. The 49ers are probably contending for a playoff spot and he has the ear of the country.

If he was a 4 or below? He's probably a 3rd stringer some place and no one would have bothered to really cover his story. I keep thinking about several NBA players that did similiar actions and it was met with shrugged shoulders.

The problem is...he's a 6. It's kinda like....I don't know...LeBron being a prick versus JR being a prick.

LeBron has been known to be an asshole but we all put up with him for many years because he made us relevant.

JR pretty much has punched his ticket out at this point.

It's a weird graph where he's intersected himself to the point where he's no longer in the league.

I'm sorry, but there is literally zero chance that Kaep is worse than about half the backup QBs in the league.

Now, you can argue he's not worth the headache that comes with signing him, especially since a lot of NFL fan bases are filled with racist assholes, but this is a league where Nathan Peterman is getting another chance despite being one of the worst QBs of all-time statistically. We don't have to like Kaep, but he has absolutely been blackballed.

There are at least five teams he could start for an be an immediate upgrade. Hell, we were one of them last year.

No one noticed he wasn't standing for the national anthem for a while. A camera man noticed and it became a story. Like you said if he was a normal backup QB, no one would have even asked him about it. I have to guess the camera man was told by someone to keep an eye on Kaep for reaction during the game since the 49ers were struggling.

Difference is the owners in the NBA haven't come together and agreed in private not to sign JR.

Neither has the NFL over Kaep. Baltimore was going to sign him, but he couldn't keep his girlfriend of Twitter. Sideshow definitely not worth the "talent".
 
Teams won't put up with drama from backups. Kaep wasn't the first and won't be the last to be out of the league because of that.

Kareem Hunt is elite so he will survive. Ray Rice was never picked back up because by that point he was washed. It's a bottom line business.

His girlfriend compared Ray Lewis to a slave and Bisciotti to his "master".

I am someone that believes Ray Lewis should have been suspended for his actions in 1999 (at bare minimum). I also believe that he's never atoned for such a crime and has people that enable this.

To have me disgusted by a commented directed at Ray Lewis takes some doing. His wife pulled that off pretty effectively though.

To the point that he would be better than most back ups? This point is to not to be disputed. You put him in a vaccuum? He's probably playing for the Jaguars or Bills this weekend.

When one would have signed him though? They would be inviting a lot of media coverage, a political debate from all sides of the spectrum and a massive headache for the front office of said team.

Again. An 8 or above? Not an issue.

I don't disagree, but is what she said really any worse than the racist stuff Josh Allen was posting on Twitter a few years ago? He just got drafted in the top ten.
 
Man, if i was a pro i swear i'd never leave the house. These bitches are dying for some shit like this to happen, making it happen even. Obviously you need to exhibit some self control, but damn . . . Also, old girl look kinda fine . . .
