Matthew Dellavedova

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I banned the guy, but the reasons his thesis was absolute poppycock are numerous. People forget that Delly played the fifth most minutes on the team that season and played the point for most of the regular season. He wore down and lost his shot against Toronto, but he was a HUGE part of the championship season and critical to getting to the Finals.

yeah they could get to the finals without him but delly was huge in getting them to the finals firing on all cylinders and able to match gsw firepower

not only with his performance that year but the previous finals had a carryover to the new season, because they fought so hard in 2015 it increased the sense of injustice and that added to the mix

I have read some comments on who `won` the trade. In a sense we probably won`t really know for several years. But I really don`t care who `won` the trade. Delly is one of my favorite Cavs because he made basketball more fun - and isn`t that one of the reasons we watch it? The game to me is more than just who is the most skilled or who wins. I am just glad to have Delly back. Having Delly is a `win` for me. Go Delly.

It's not really a trade that can be measured in "who won" type of thing.
Both teams required something different because they're at very different stages and I think both teams got what they wanted.

kinda of agree. Bucks could use Hill this year, can use his contract to clear space for next year. A win for the bucks

We get a 1st(protected) and second. Not that worried about the protection since the bucks project to have a good window.
Besides the feel good of delly coming back I think he will be a better mentor for sexton than hill just because his attitude and demeanor are closer in my view to sexton.
Plus he gets a good back-up PG for two years...plus we can move him next year at the deadline to a contender needing a back-up PG

Delly will also tighten up the defense, would love to see delly and nwaba on the court same time

Amen.

To me, the worst thing to see in sports is a lack of effort. Guys in baseball sometimes get benched for failing to run out one ground ball. Last year, it got to the point where it was common to see a lack of effort among multiple players at the same time. It made the game unwatchable for me.

I'd rather see a bunch of guys bust their asses to win 25 games, then a bunch of lazy pricks win 50.

We won the trade. Hill sucked for us. We needed something different from him.

I dont think the Bucks will view winning this trade base on Hills play. They will see it as a win on their end if they are able to resign Bledsoe, Brogdon, and Middleton while possibly doing some other signing based on their available cap space. They probably can do another signing since those guys won't have huge cap holds and they will have the MLE to work with too.

So tanks off? Cavs warriors part five, cavs in 6

Any chance of bringing back the original Delly thread? Its a great read!!

This thread brought back a few great memories. Good to see him back at the Cavs!!
There just has to be few more classic Delly moments.

@Randolphkeys was Delly's prophet. When guys like me thought he sucked in SL, Key's kept the faith and told us all to wait and see. Now, we all know Keys is an utter douchenozzle in all other respects, but we have to give him credit for that at least.

@Randolphkeys -- don't say I never gave you credit for anything.

Next to Frye, this is one of my most favorite comeback stories of this season. It was a win/win for the Cavs IMO. Dellavedova is beloved here, he's a solid rotation guy, and a good influence (like TT is right now). All of these things are needed during the tank so that this team has a good chemistry when the tank stops rolling.

Waiting for the Young Bull vs Delly fist fight at practice... If Delly still has that dog in him, it is bound to happen...
