2019 Browns Off Season/Roster Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If we are sitting on $56.5, id imagine that consider cutting Hubbard (will be a $4mil next savings; if I am reading correctly) & Collins ($7 mil net savings). Can someone confirm?

Whether or not thats the case, id make it a priority to make 2 big splashes defensively & one playmaker on offense.

Id like a guy like CJ Mosley to not only take away from Baltimore but be a rock solid presence in the middle. The guy rarely misses tackles and our LB core is disgustingly awful. I would also be intrigued to see who the cap casualties would be, ive read in a few places that Sheard, Dareus & Trevathian could be cut.

Also very intrigued to see who is made available. Hopefully Jacksonville blows it up.

Well when you are as bad as we were at drafting, it gets to a point where you let anyone walk after their 1st contract lol.

We need more playmakers defensively (specifically linebackers) before I feel good about having to meet Luck in the AFC Championship year after year.

We let go of our scouting department when Dorsey got here. For some reason those scouts were around for 10 years and GM after GM just kept them. We did great last year although we clearly missed on a couple, plus free agency I hope gives us some depth at LB and DL plus maybe a tackle that starts.

All that said, I really like Devin White but not sure he drops far enough. If so, he is going to be a stud in the NFL.

I think Corbett was always more of a developmental project. I could see him coming into play when its time to cut one of the older guys. His playtime this year will be the key. Everything else (maybe minus Thomas) I am ok with.

Also, just because I want to put two and two together:

Cant embed IG for some reason, but its Baker having dinner with OBJ & Von Miller. Two guys that have been rumored to be traded the last few months.

An interesting name in free agency to me is Jake Ryan of Green Bay. Wolf and Highsmith picked him in the fourth round, and he's a Cleveland native. He's a tackling machine at middle linebacker who had made considerable improvement in pass coverage until he blew out his ACL last August.

I would literally soil myself.

I didn’t realize he’s about to be 30. Not sure how much I’d want to give up for a 30 year old.

Youth at LB is definitely something we should prioritize for sure.

But still, it's Von Fuckin' Miller

I'm big on the Rams "all-in with a rookie QB contract approach," but Von is going to want a lot more guaranteed years than the Browns might be willing to give.

We'll have a problem in a few years that the Raiders just had, and that we've been begging to have for literally decades, in that we'll have to pay both a FQB and one franchise edge rusher. If we can get away with paying another edge rusher in the interim...

By the way, early SB 54 odds have us 12th at +1250...

Isn't OBJ under contract? If he is recruiting at dinner a player under contract, then it's no different than LBJ recruiting Anthony Davis to demand a trade to the Lakers.
