SO the argument about this is taking the wrong turn because of domestic abuse. There are 2 valid arguments here and I 100% disagree with some that the validity of the position he plays is one of the arguments. When ever you do something that is going to cause a huge PR hit, the need for the player is very important to consider. Personally I would rather sign Kaepernick and give him a shot for our backup QB which will be a huge need rather than take on the PR hit for a RB who will play like 4 games for us, but that decision isn't mine.
And this is not a domestic abuse issue, the video we have is way over blown, he has a drinking issue, not a hitting woman issue. He has an anger management issue not a wife beating issue. This was the 2nd of 3 alcohol and anger related incidents in a short 6 month period. He is most likely an alcoholic or at the very least an alcohol abuser and extreme anger issues.
In the Ray Rice video he knocks out his fiancée then drags her by the hair, if you watch the Hunt video and come away with even close to the same level of violence then you aren't being honest.
But like I said, do we need this hassle for the position of rb and is the league doing the right thing suspending someone for almost a full season for an alcohol issue he is getting treatment for? I mean Gordon is kicked out of the league for life for essential being clinically depressed and using legal medication the league doesn't approve of, even the commissioner mentioned the issues is all three incidents, not just the one on the video, so this is not a woman abuser, but it is an alcohol abuser with anger issues.
I have gone back and forth because in the end everyone deserves a 2nd chance and the league is treating people with real medical issues, alcoholic, clinically depressed as garbage because the league is very small minded. Now I need to decide if my sense of right and wrong is bigger than a huge pr hit my team is taking...and this is tough, this is one of the most grey area issues I have run across in a very long time.
