2019 Mock Drafts

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I’m becoming all-in on Hockenson or Greedy Williams. Those guys would be transformative pieces.

Obviously our biggest hole is interior defensive line, and because of the low bust rate, I’d be totally fine with one at 17. I just don’t know that any of the transformative guys will be there at 17, whereas at least one of Greedy or Hockenson should be.

To be fair, everyone who looked at Michael Thomas saw immediately that the dude looked like a first round physical specimen at the WR position.

McLaurin doesn't jump off the screen to me. He very well might be the best WR from OSU in this draft class. He very well might pan out to be a stud in the NFL, but I have him behind guys like Hakeem Butler, Parris Campbell and Andy Isabella--all guys I'm not even confident in.
That's fair. I'm not saying McLaurin should be a 1st round pick or anything like Thomas. I do think he'd be a very good 3rd round pick though, and that is where I expect him to go, if not the 2nd. And I do think he'll be the best OSU WR in this class.

I'm really becoming motivated by the idea of moving back unless a few guys drop into that 17 range like Jonah Williams, Ed Oliver, etc.

Greedy Williams would be a pretty good choice too, but the money is going to be in that 2nd and 3rd round range.

Move back to 20-25, acquire an extra 3 and another pick in 2020.

Grab a player like Devin Bush, TJ Hockenson, Christian Wilkins.

Really just depends on who is there and how the Browns’ draft board looks.

If Hock is there and we have him rated as a future pro-bowler, you just do it.

That’s why the pre-draft talks are always fun to read about but kind of fruitless. You might love a guy at 17 who won’t be there at that pick, or might still be there next round.

I still can’t help reading about it. Dammit.

Not sure if he is 2nd worthy, but I do agree Paris gives me concerns, but he has a chance to be a Hill if he can clean up those hands some. 4 hours of JUGGS machine a day. lol

If the Browns walk out of the draft with Stanley Morgan and Terry McLaurin, I'll be pretty thrilled.

Go get guys who can run routes and be sure handed, those two guys are a couple favorites from the middle rounds.

David Sills is another guy who should get looks as well. His combine times more than back up the tape.

I'd honestly be shocked if Hockenson is there at 17. Last year, the first pass-catcher didn't go until 24, and this year also is a pretty weak year for WR's. Teams are going to be starved for young pass-catching talent. If some team wants a weapon in the passing game, Hockenson is the surest thing in the draft. Plus, he blocks.

What are peoples thoughts on potentially drafting Jeffery Simmons at 17? Since the injury there hasn't been much talk of him on here, even though he was pretty much the consensus number 2-3 DT in the class. He's a great run stuffer, great at rushing the passer, by all accounts from Mississippi State he's a model student who made a terrrible mistake as a kid. The injury is scary and I don't know the history of guys at that position with that particular injury, but is there reason to expect that with modern medicine it might not be an issue in the long term?

I don't think Wilkins is on the board at 17, there's a chance Hockenson's gone, and Devin Bush is probably still there. In no particular order, but just listing off all the position players I see going before we draft...

  1. Greedy Williams
  2. Deandre Baker
  3. Devin White
  4. Quinnen Williams
  5. Ed Oliver
  6. Christian Wilkins
  7. Nick Bosa
  8. Josh Allen
  9. Clelin Ferrell
  10. Jonah Williams
  11. Montez Sweat
If any of those guys are still on the board when we pick, you run that pick up and put it in--I just don't think any will be available. I've had my heart set on Wilkins for a while, but it looks like that's just a pipe dream.

I don't think there's anyone in the draft who can be Tyreek Hill. I don't think we've ever seen someone as quick/fast as Tyreek Hill.

That's like saying a good shooting PG coming out can be the next Steph Curry, or a 6th round QB as the next Tom Brady. There's nobody like that.

Even if Wilkins isn't, I'm having a hard time seeing an impact player at 17 who I think would NOT be there at 20-25. This is more based on me only liking a few players at that range anyway.

Greedy Williams, Ed Oliver, Devin White, Jonah Williams are probably the four guys I'd expect to stay at 17 for.*

*Bosa, Williams, Sweat, Allen, Sweat, Burns off the board.

If you can pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd by moving back four spots and still getting Devin Bush, or Hockenson, or whoever you think you can get at that next range, I like the move.

If he's there, and the following guys are gone, I'd love Simmons.

I didn't say it right, I meant hill type, just not as good. I ended up having something come up at work.

Hill is the best player in a long time that does what he does. The slot receiver who can also run and return kicks. He is a modern Eric Metcalf. Didn't mean to imply he will be as good as Hill, but Paris will be used in a similar way as Hill.
