2019 NBA Draft Lottery

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The two best players, IMO, are Zion and Morant, but they aren't surefire, can't miss prospects. There are legitimate concerns about how well Zion's game will translate. I personally think Morant would have been an interesting pairing with Sexton but bigger guards may have been posting them up all game.

Odds were the Cavs would be drafting somewhere between 3 - 6. It was always going to be a bit of crapshoot with that group of players. Who really knows if Culver will be better than Hunter, etc etc.

The Cavs could still end up with the best player in his draft, or a very good starter.

Now THAT was a thoughtful response. @froginctown is my new best friend.

Could have been much worse.

Plenty of talent at 5. Heck maybe the best talent. Look at Dame and Giannis.

Knicks get screwed. Lakers don’t get enough help. Celtics lose the Grizz pick.

Lots to like tonight.

Go look at recent drafts and you won't find much difference between the 2nd pick and the 5th pick. In many cases the 5th pick turned out better.

Who do you guys like at 5? I personally like Garland or White. Those are bigger PG's that could fit with Sexton. I am just not a huge fan of Culver or Hunter. Those are low upside players.
I don't think Garland is a big point guard. I think he is only
6'2

Assuming the order is set in the top 3 we still won't know who is going 4th with a strong chance Lakers move the pick in an effort to get Davis, but I would gamble on Sekou who needs to develop but has insane upside if they think he has the work ethic. If not I would target Kevin Porter at the combine unless the maturity issues prove unreasonable at the combine interviews at which point I at least take a closer look at Garland who could be the next Steph although he is small to play off ball and isn't any better at running the point than Sexton so it's not a probable option.
In reality if they are not interested in gambling on pure upside boom bust types I think they will take Hunter or Culver both solid defenders on the wing with decent upside although not projected to be elite upsides and hope whoever they take exceeds expectations.

I have been a huge fan of Hachimura and I believe his ceiling is high. His game is still not polished yet as he did not start playing basketball at mid age and perfect to have Beilein as coach.

If we could swing Hachimura at #8 while trading down with the Hawks so we get #10 too, I'd be real happy. Hachimura and someone like Cam Reddish could really grow into something with Beilein as our coach.

Hunter is the worst pick to me. A low ceiling guy that will be 22 before midseason is a search for a solid starter in a league that demands stars to be legit.

Yeah, just like I thought.

At least you got that right.
Why are you so angry and bitter?

Is it because you want to believe that the NBA is Every thing it appears?

I got less blow back from my 12 year old cousin when I told her Santa Claus wasn't real.

You think big money business is honest, Good for you. But im not naive.

darius is about the same size as sexton

Sexton: 6'2, 183.5 lbs with a 6'6.5 wingspan and 8'0 standing reach

Garland: 6'2 173 lbs with 6'5 wingspan and 8'0 standing reach

Tell us about your last boardroom presentation. Was it in Midtown or the Upper East Side?

Outside of Zion and Ja, I don’t see a huge issue between 3-5. I don’t love RJ Barrett and I don’t think he would have liked being in Cleveland. And the Lakers will surely screw up #4. We are going to get a good player, hopefully a wing, who can fit in with Sexton, Cedi, Love and TT. Just have to keep adding talent and try to get wins now. You may say tanking didn’t work but we just got a top 5 pick out of it.
