Your 2019 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It's certainly something that people in Cleveland can't be bothered to show up to the ballpark or seem to give a shit when the team is good but have all sorts of opinions when things go south for the first time in four years. I've heard more Indians talk on my drive home in the last two weeks than I have in the past few seasons.

Don't the Indians have some of the best local TV ratings in all of baseball?

I'd hardly call that "not giving a shit"

You know what is amusing, is how much whining you do in S34 about ppl who should be banned bcz you don’t agree with them. I like your analysis but your holier than thou takes are an RCF running joke.

Lighten up. The level of butthutt over a Dolan joke is hilarious. It’s as if people can only take sarcasm if Jigo posts it.
Dude, these people have made it known that you cant be a casual Indians fan. Every post must be about analysis in one way or another. Indians fans don't do casual banter.
They gave Dave shit because he asked about a softball glove.
They complain people don't go to the games, but they also stifle conversations that casual fans have because it's a "bad take". You gotta be the best of the best poster dripping with baseball knowledge to cut it in here.

Straw man.

Not an argument anyone makes. Straw man.

Most are, but this isn't the case for this particular discussion.

You gotta be the best of the best poster dripping with baseball knowledge to cut it in here.

Nope. But people can at least be funny.

This all based on HenryMuto only posting in here when the Indians lose? Or literally one poster giving Dave shit about the softball glove?

This is a terrible fucking post

Come on man, the ratio of requests in ban thread coming from the Indians section for how many of the posts come from that section is disproportionate to say the least.

And, just to be clear, that one poster (me) had no issue with a question about a baseball glove being asked in the baseball section. There's just no reason to stick it in a 2019 Cleveland Indians thread. It should've been moved to its own thread.

So wait, theres some thread where people go and try to get other people banned? Seriously? That seems a little weak unless some poster is going way above the line.

I just looked back through the last 8 or so pages in the ban thread. Indians92 and JayDD were "bad enough" that they were banned. The other 2, JMoney and HenryMuto, literally only come in to call Jose a choker or rant and rave after the Indians lose

This section has way less activity than the Cavs section or even the Browns section, so troll posts stick out and detract from good discussion much more.

It's easy to ignore a troll who makes one post in a Cavs section, and a few minutes later it's 4 pages back and nobody cares about it.

It sticks out more when it's half of an entire thread.

I just brought your name up in it

You should enjoy your last few minutes on the site

If they want to rant and don't think the team is playing up to expectations, sorry that it's a bit irritating but I really wouldn't call that trolling or ban worthy. And whether or not someone is actually deserving of a ban is a subjective phenomenon and I think many people here and across the board would argue they don't always get it right.

People are much, much worse across the board and abundantly more so and fact remains like half the complaints come from here. They stick out elsewhere too. People attitudes are plainly just different else where.

Notable trolls of this board purposely come here to stir it up.

Some of them create alt accounts specifically to troll.

Not all that odd compared to much of Cleveland's infatuation with hating on the Indians, really. It's pretty strange nonetheless.

Don't have much interest in the false victimization being claimed here, especially from some of the folks who participate in the "alt-troll account" stuff.

I've said too much! It does take quite a bit to get banned, so don't worry.

Back to baseball. The real issue is that the injury bug has really hit the Indians hard this year. And that combined with some FA losses, some which were by design, have really hurt us. It's a really long season though, and it is easy to pile on when things go bad because, well, it's the Cleveland Indians. Things usually end poorly.

I still stand by the fact that going to a Tribe game is the best sporting experience in town, win or lose, and I give the Dolans a lot of credit there. They are actually really good owners. But it's also fun to call them cheapskates. When did this start? Well they paid the highest price ever for a baseball team back in 2000, and then gutted the team in 2002 a couple years later so people assumed they had paid too much and were broke. Now, rebuilding was probably the right thing to do, but this led to the perception that they care more about coin than they do about winning. It's more of a joke than reality. Most people get the joke and play along and laugh about it. Others are wound a little tight and need to relax. It's a little like booing Goodell (though that is warranted). Again, I've been watching since the Cory Snyder days so I know a thing or two about this team and fanbase.

Like where? I don't read CavsTalk, which I guess is true for like 80% of S34 members. The Browns section is pretty good and when someone says something stupid, plenty of posters jump on that person. Maybe it seems less condescending, because when it happens in here it's the same 3 regulars? The mod team seems to have done a really great job on the politics side to encourage things to be as civil as possible. Off-topic or EAYOR seems to have a pretty niche crowd of regular posters.

We will agree to disagree on the other stuff. Popping in and out posting blatantly negative things and not contributing to any discussions to elicit a reaction is pretty much textbook trolling. I see the Ban Thread as more of a "this user has continually been trolling, maybe a mod should talk to him" type of thing.

And I guess I always revert back to this thread which was gospel when RCF first started. http://realcavsfans.com/community/index.php?threads/new-to-rcf-read-me.22786/
