2023 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Throw Jarrett Patterson in the interior OL mix from Notre Dame.

Later round prospect with a wealth of starting experience and workman-like efficiency at G and C.

Is he looked at as a later round guy now?

When I looked a while ago, he was mocked by people to be one of the first centers off the board.

I haven't really looked into him for that reason--but if he's going to go later, add him to the list.

I don't know what this means.

Nothing? I'd rather run back the same offense and bank on a healthy Teller rounding back into elite form than trade him away and see the line go to shit again. I have confidence in Callahan as much as the next guy but you really wanna see Hjalte Froholdt start games for this football team again? Hard pass.

A line with the highest paid LG, RG and RT is sustainable to you? Especially when questions at center, and a decision on the 5th year option of the LT loom?

On paper, absolutely run it back. And maybe for this year you can kick the can again, but at some point a change will need to be made.

A shitty starter is way less sustainable.

I believe it's sustainable as long as the center, left tackle and swing tackle are on rookie contracts. Hoping they strike day three gold for offensive line projects.

Where are you seeing them as the highest paid at their positions?

This is what I have for 2023 cap hits--and that's with the monster contracts of Quenton Nelson and Elgton Jenkins being more backloaded.

It was partly hyperbole, as by AAV, the three are 2nd, 3rd, and 6th highest paid at their positions.

What was Froholdt's rating as *guard*? I know he was bad at center, but everything I've seen said he was at least average replacing Teller.

Nick Harris hasnt played a regular season game since when? Isnt he also in his last season of his rookie deal? Wills will be playing on a $15M 5th year *if* they pick it up, putting the OLine at $60M. 2 positions need to be replaced within 365ish days *if* your desire to keep them on a rookie deal is to be followed.

All I know is that dude can win matchups and catches everything.

Playmaker.

Not sure we’d touch him, but really intrigued by Brenton Cox being interviewed and watched by scouts this week.

He’s a monster on and off the field, and while I would assume he’s off a lot of team boards after two major dismissals, do you start to see his name pop back up?

Very good football player. Has a ton of confidence and passion . He is def not intimidated by anyone . He has the mindset that no one is gonna shut him down. Reminds me of Steve Smith in terms of how he carries himself.

Speaking of undersized weapons.

Tank Dell can scoot.

He’s a weapon on the punt return.

He’s a short area quickness demon, can’t cover him in space.

Can get deep.

The ability he has to make the one footed plant and change direction makes him a weapon teams can find value in.

Welcome to the Tankathon!

(Admittedly, I thought he'd be available later day 3. Now it seems like he's going to sneak into the back end of round 3)

So the solution to this sustainability would be to trade Teller for a player who gets paid more than him?

I'm not supremely confident that Teller returns to his "one of the best guards in football" form. I'm worried that the Teller we saw in 2022 is close to the Teller we see in 2023.

If that's the case, he's an absolute albatross that is going to hurt this team, and deprive our offense of one of the core parts of its identity (superior guard play, setting up running lanes for Chubb no matter which side we run to).

I've previously outlined why I'd be wary of Nuk. I think he's going to want a new deal, and that new deal could become an albatross.
