I think he will settle in as a backup center next year on the cavs replacing lopez. I will maintain he could become a solid player in the league with his IQ and passing ability. If he can continue to develop that 3 point shot. Look out. Just my opinion

I would say temper your expectations a bit. The G-League tallent level is nowhere near the NBA. For every Christian Wood there are dozens of players that average 20+ that do nnothing in NBA

That said, there are Christian Woods and Khirs Middleton's out there. So you never know, bball iq and improved shooting will be is path to meaningful minutes in the NBA
 
I. Mobley just has to prove that he won’t bleed points on defense at the NBA level. G League isn’t going to show me that.
 
To think how much better the G League is better than college players, and yet most of the G league can't sniff the NBA. It has to be about the most absurd sport in terms of talent.

Just seeing how well he's doing there when he probably doesn't ever really make it.
 
The big issue with mobley is his body. He's a skilled player but he needs to either be taller, faster or stronger to play at the next level regularly

Any reconsideration by people of whether he has NBA caliber athleticism/skills after watching the game last night? I didn’t watch but his stat line was obviously very impressive (against inferior competition - but still probably better than g-league)

Looked solid to me. Defense was bad, but got a few moves on offense.
 
How bad was the defense? He’s not capable of becoming a real contributor on this team (top 8 in the rotation or whatever) unless he can eventually become acceptable on defense

I thought he looked slow, and out of position. What is his position? Right now he’s small for center, but maybe power forward

Probably a PF. He wasnt RoLo slow, but he was slow and out of position like you said.

Might make a decent back of the bench guy, still dont think he has the size or foot speed to properly defend. But he can score at this level at some level, and that might keep him in the league on min contracts for a decade or so, and not a bad career if you ask me.
