Believe it or not I understand keeping Hedges around to mentor Bo and help handle the pitching staff, but in a season where the performance of the young players is the determinng factor I would have already dealt Bieber and Laureano if there were a good offer. I'm not suggesting I'm right or wrong, but doesn't it seem as if they are hanging in some sort of purgatory? It just doesn't seem like they have a clear direction and that they are holding out for the incredibly unlikely. Just fuckin' make the determination that the 24 season is either a stepping stone for the next window of contention or to go all in. The "in between" bullshit is what aggravates me. Either there is no reason for guys like Bieber and Laureano to be on the roster or that they made no legitimate additions this offseason as the prospects pile up on one another. Admittedly, I don't mind a lot of risk if the payoff is large and not everyone is in congruence with that idea.
