Andre Iguodala on the market?

That's tough.

I'd be inclined to say no, because Brand's deal is just that bad.

However, if we were to take on Brand's contract, with their top pick or not, no way do I give up most of our assets.

Thats what makes it seem ok to me. We wouldn't have to. We keep JJ, and most likely get their great pick as well as Iggy and Brand.

Mo
Iggy
Euclid Express
Brand
Shaq

Pretty beasty starting 5. Depending on who it would take to fill in the trade, we would maintain a great bench. Plus a top 10 pick? I'm not seeing the problem, barring Brand being a complete turd...

FWIW:

Philly's insider said they had talks with Phoenix that were essentially: Amare & Richardson for Brand, Iggy, 2010 1st Round pick

The major hitch in the deal was the protection on that pick. He implied that Philly would want top 3 protected at minimum, but they'd prefer top 5 protected if possible. That may change because we wouldn't be making them take on J-Rich, who doesn't expire this year, but it'd still probably be top 3 protected at minimum.

No chance in hell Phoenix takes on those 2 contracts.

When you go to the Sixers team page, you're greeted with Andre Iguodala being the teams leading scorer, passer and thief, while Dalembert leads them in rebounds and blks, would it really be a bad thing to take their two best players off their hands?

Iguodala and Dalembum are your 2 best players then there is no secret why the Sixers are 16-31.

And Dalembert is probably their 6th or 7th best player.

I still think Houston is a major threat here. TMac's monster expiring, lots of intriguing talent, and a very good GM. Dont sleep on the Rockets making a bid.

Something like TMac, Scola, someone else and draft picks for Iggy and Brand/Dalembert and throw ins?

Z contract is 75% paid for already, plus 3 million cash in a trade. Z would cost then little to nothing, + Z's Trade cause in his contract 1.5 million i think

^For the last time, who's the girl in your avatar?

RCF gets:

Name of girl in Witness_Protection's avatar

Witness_Protection gets:

The trade works.

If you do not reveal said name, you are 100% to blame if we don't get Iggy.

Yes, I am aware what each guy can play.

But LeBron & Iggy are not combo guards.

Combo guards are guys that have the attributes of both guard spots, but don't fit the at either position.

LeBron & Iggy are not guards, even though they can play the guard spots on occasion.

Iggy could be considered a swingman (2 & 3)

Lebron could be considered....Lebron Freaking James. Seriously, he's only a 'small' forward for lack of a better position/term. Especially considering he weighs more then a good portion of the league's Power Forwards. (I suppose it's called a point forward, but that doesn't do Lebron justice)

I know, but my point was that neither is considered a combo guard.

I would prefer to take Brand as it is because it would sow up out two weakest spots. Plus I don't think that we would have to completely shell out our best assets. IMO it would be just a simple trade of Z, Wally, JJ and a first. With the rumour of them packaging their top pick, well that absolutely seals it for me. In this deal we would trade one young prospect that is basically a crap shoot at this point for a potential stud in the draft. Actually with taking on Brand we may not have to include JJ but rather Green and DJ. Brand does open up a lot of possibilities for us. Even top 5 protected would be a solid possibility if we could get them to put it top 5 this year, and top 1 next year and then unprotected the following year.

Aren't Z's expiring, Wally's bird rights, and J.J, our best assets?

I'm with powerslave... We need a name for miss Witnessprotection.

Damn, I think I'm seeing some nipple. Yup, that's 50% of one nipple from where I'm sitting.

Back to hoops. I'd prefer the Cavs just target Iggy and not mess with the rest of Philly's garbage. Not like the rest of the league is kicking down the doors to nab Elton Brand's corpse.

This is why no one wasn't Brand

Samuel Dalembert $11,360,000 $12,200,000

Elton Brand $14,858,471 $15,959,099 $17,059,726 $18,160,354

Edit: Dalembert will be a assets next season with his contract, Brand will destroy this team with a hard cap on the horizon.

Would you take that on if in return you get Iggy and a top 10 pick? (and of course Brand)

I don't see how we can actually trade for brand and AI both.

We would have to sign wally to like a 12 M deal, and there is no way the league would allow that, or at least i wouldn't think that they would.

So the question I still have... Z, JJ, and a 1st for Iggy. Does Philly cave and take it at the deadline?

A low-ball offer for sure, but assuming they'd do it, doesnt Ferry have to pull the trigger?

Also, let's quit talking about Brand. It's making me sick to my stomach. Iggy only or bust...
