Houston may be the roadblock W&G is talking about.....

my posts always end up the last on a page for some reason.
But we can offer expirings, too. And take Dalembert...or whatever other bad contract.

It's easy to sell the fans on trading for Amare. But McGrady? Everyone knows he's a washed up scrub....not exactly an easy sell to the Philly fans. Iverson was different because of the history. So why would that deal be better than ours?

I think the roadblock could be Wally. Assuming we don't trade for Iggy alone, we'd have to include Wally & Z (plus more, obv). The 76ers don't want to trade for 2 players who will be bought out, though, so they want Z alone or Wally alone. We couldn't match salaries in the Dalembert/Iggy deal with Wally or Z alone....so we're stuck because we don't want to give up the talent to get Iggy alone.

My guess, at least.

Well Windy will be on ALl Bets are Off Tuesady so maybe a new rumor will surface.

Very possible. Did not think of that initially.

It would also save face with fans a SHITTON more than any combination of Green, Powe, or even JJ, IMO.

What?! Having T-Mac for 2 months would make the fans happy? HAHAHA, that's great.

At least I can stop checking this thread non-stop now.

Adding Iggy is 10 times better than adding any of the options at PF people have suggested. JJ and Andy are bringing in quality minutes and scoring. The real problem is at the 2.

im 50/50 on this. iggy deal looks good towards our future cuz he's young, but u cant rely on jj in the playoffs. way different atmosphere, too bad he didnt get the experience during last year's playoffs due to his injury.

I dont like to over analyze things, but if Hickson is a road block, he better be an all star because I'm not going to be happy if we get the Jaret Wright basketball version.

It's not really JJ. I'm hearing alot of financial issues that are having a hard time getting to fit on both sides, and accomplish what is felt is necassary from a player standpoint. Finding a third team might make the player package, and financial aspects fit for all sides.

But, that's tough to accomplish as we all have found out from past experiences. We've gone from smaller simpler packages, and then have eventualy explored things that got rather cumbersome ... I was getting the impression from the Philly side that things seemed very plausible ...so, you hear different impressions based on who you talk to.

Philly is talking with up to five different teams now, and in any of them could be a fit for a third team in some capacity.

Plus, we have conversations going with teams that have never even been mentioned in trade talks all over the media and internet. So, I still feel that we'll be able to get something accomplished. I'm stil fr more optimisitic than pessimistic that we'll get a trade done.

But, I like most of you have hoped to be able to land Iguodala. Have always liked his game, and have just felt he had more on his plate in Philly than was appropriate. I thin that he beng teamed with and coordinated with Lebeon would be a force that couldn't be matched for the next eight years or so in the league, and they would accomplish magnificient things together.

I'm hoping that somehow things get done on that front ...

I don't see what other impact players we could be having talks about. If it was anyone worth mentioning, I imagine we'd have heard it by now. Or am I wrong?

I think BigMar is W&G, Whenever he says, "I need a post" within 2 minutes W&G comes in, it's magical.
