Not gonna lie, that man looks good in Wine and Gold...

Let's get it back on track then... And with a new topic!...

W&G could be talking about a number of players

Rudy Gay
Tracy McGrady
Caron Butler
Chris Kaman
Rip Hamilton
David West
David Lee
Al Jefferson
Corey Maggette
Martel Webster

Hmmm. Out of this list, give me Al Jefferson all day long. In my opinion, he's one of the best kept secrets in the NBA. I never really thought about him as a possibility, but Minnesota is dreadful, and he's making a decent salary. If they want to dump salary, I'd take Jefferson in a heartbeat.

I've seen enough of his games to know that he can definitely play. He's young, big, and has put up a roundabout solid 20 and 10 the last 2-3 years. His numbers have dropped a bit the first half of this year, but like I said, right now Minnesota isn't exactly the place to put up good stats.

Add him to this team, and I can see really good things happening in the near future.

Didn't they decline a deal that would land them Danny Granger.

I think this thread set a record for the most times a single emoticon has been quoted....

Or W&G is feeling flirty today....

Alright W&G, the smoke screen is set and most people have given up on Iggy. So is he going to be in Cleveland on Thursday or Friday?

I utilize this thread as a coffee that doesn't run train on my intestines. Crunch time for some work here at school and this thread, while distracting, is energizing.

W&G,

Could you give us a little insight into the Cavs thinking in this whole process? What do you sense is their main reason for possibly making a trade? Is it simply to get one piece to win the title this year? Are they looking to set up LeBron with a long-term running mate? Are they looking for long-term cap/financial flexibility down the line in a deal? Lots of possibilities but if they make a deal what's the overriding factor? Thanks.

Sacramento trade might be something like this...

Cavs trade: Z, JJ, Green, Jawad
Kings trade: Kenny Thomas, Nocioni
Philly trades: Iguodala, Dalembert
Cavs receives: Iguodala, Nocioni
Philly receives: Z, JJ, Green, Jawad, Kenny Thomas

I think that just barely works money wise, unless Nocioni has a trade kicker.

I'm not sure I totally like the trade because we don't get a big back. But Something involving Iguodala to Cavs, Z, and Thomas to Sixers, and Dalembert to Kings would be a starting place.

Nocioni could serve as our stretch 4, tough he's not as tall as would be ideal.

:licker:

Not sure I heard that one. If they did, then I don't see us getting him unless we throw better players in the mix, something we're probably not looking to do.

Insert pouty face.

But... Granger's salary is pretty hefty too, which brings it back full circle to Minnesota wanting to dump salary. If that's the case, Jefferson is a definite possibility.

Insert smiley face.

Lame.

Sacramento means Kevin Martin probably (yuck) and I dont really want D-West.

My read on WnG's posts is more to the effect that those are the teams we're trying to get involved in a 3-way... not that we would end up with West or Martin, but those guys would go to Philly, We get Iggy and the "mystery team" would get cap relief. I think Iggy is still the target WnG is referring to.
