10 person league, .5 pts per reception
I had the #1 pick.

QB: Joe Flacco (Round 7, #61 overall)
RB: Chris Johnson (Round 1, #1 overall)
RB: Rashard Mendenall (Round 2, #20 overall)
RB/WR: Ryan Grant (Round 3, #21 overall)
WR: Steve Smith [Carolina] (Round 4, #40 overall)
WR: Steve Smith [NYG] (Round 5, #41 overall)
TE: Jason Witten (Round 6, #60 overall)
K: Rob Bironas (Round 16, #160 overall)
D/ST: Packers (Round 13, #121 overall)

Bench: WR Jeremy Maclin (Round 8, #80 overall)
Bench: WR Santana Moss (Round 9, #81 overall)
Bench: RB Thomas Jones (Round 10, #100 overall)
Bench: RB LaDainian Tomlinson (Round 11, #101 overall)
Bench: QB Ben Roethlisberger (Round 12, #120 overall)
Bench: RB Montario Hardesty (Round 14, #140 overall)
Bench: WR Laurent Robinson (Round 15, #141 overall)
Bench: TE Brandon Pettigrew (Round 17, #161 overall)

I definitely think I'll be competing with this team. My RBs are stacked. If Flacco breaks out this year my team will be unstoppable. Had I know someone like Jamaal Charles was going to fall all the way to #43 I could've taken Peyton Manning with my 20th or 21st selection but hey hindsight is 20/20.

I'd done a ton of mock drafts and shyed away from both Steve Smiths for some reason but the glaring hole I had at WR when I picked 3 RB with my first 3 picks and none of the 1st/2nd tier QBs left seemed like the right move to make.

QB is obviously what could make or break it for me. Flacco could really come into his own this year with all the weapons he now has and if he does I will be golden. I didn't want to select someone like Jay Cutler/Kevin Kolb and be debating every week which QB I was going to play. I picked Ben Rapistberger as my backup which seems perfect - he'll be back later in the year and I'll probably know by then if Flacco is my guy or not. Plus I would've had to blow an earlier pick where I got solid rb/wr depth on another qb which would've been bad.

So I dropped Glen Coffee the day he retired and pick Arian Foster up off of waivers in my team listed in the first post of this thread....Now I'm in a dilemma of who to start at RB. My RB's are not a very strong point of my team, Forte and Stewart, and Foster's stock has been rising now that he has been promoted to starter and with his game last night where he had 100+ yds. and a TD. Who should I start?

1. Drew Brees QB
2. DeSean Jackson WR
3. Brandon Marshall WR
4. Jonathan Stewart RB
5. Matt Forte RB
6. Jermichael Finley TE
7. T.J. Houshmandzadeh WR
8. Kevin Kolb QB
9. Lee Evans WR
10. Matt Forte RB (Keeper)
11. Pittsburgh DEF
12. Visanthe Shiancoe TE
13. Garrett Hartley K
14. Jacoby Jones WR
15. Mike Williams (tampa bay) QB

Good or bade trade?

I get:
Greg Jennings
(GB - WR)

T.J. Houshmandzadeh
(Sea - WR)

They Get:
Larry Fitzgerald
(Ari - WR)

Vincent Jackson
(SD - WR)

I say do the trade. He is suspended for the first 3 games. And will he even be on the field after that, will he have his contract dispute over with? If he doesn't sign his tender before Sept 3rd he gets suspended 3 more games, so he won't be available until week 7. Larry Fitz doesn't have a consistent QB, he won't put the numbers up he usually does.

Jennings has a top 2, maybe 1, QB throwing the ball to him. And if he is 1 on 1 vs a defender I think that he is one of the best receivers in the game.

Housh is out to prove the doubters wrong and is finally starting the season healthy.

Just did my 2nd fantasy draft. I had last pick, there were only 8 people in it.

I'm in a 8-Team Standard Head-to-Head league and I picked 8th in the draft. We play with QB, WR, WR, WR/RB, RB, RB, TE, K, DEF, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN.

(*Yes, I drafted Vince Young on accident)

I know Larry Fitz doesn't have a QB, but getting him in the 5th round when he is ranked as the 12th best player available overall I felt was a steal. I think he can put up WR2 points for me.

*This is my first time every doing at 8-team league, I already drafted in a 12-team league and I usually play in 12-team leagues. One thing I did notice is that in an 8-team league it just seems like there is know wrong pick you can make, it was so hard trying to choose between some of these guys and it just seems like every team is stacked.

Had my draft today in a Yahoo 14 team league. What im about to write is not a mistake. Kid couldnt make it to draft so he pre-ranked his players in the
7th round he took Pittsburgh D.
8th round Phil Dawson.
9th round Mike Vrabel (seriously).
11th round Josh Johnson Tampa QB.
12th round Indy D.
13th round David Akers.
14th round Deangelo Smith (Browns BACK UP DB)

Possibly the worst draft I have ever witnessed in my life, but the funniest Ive ever been apart of.

(1) RB Ray Rice
(2) RB Shonn Greene
(3) QB Philip Rivers
(4) WR Michael Crabtree
(5) TE Jermichael Finley
(6) WR Hines Ward
(7) RB Jerome Harrison
(8) RB Clinton Portis
(9) WR Mohammed Massaquoi
(10) RB Ladainian Tomlinson
(11) WR Devin ashomaduwadabooboo
(12) WR Mike Williams
(13) D/ST new orleans saints
(14) WR Austin Collie
(15) K (can't remember)

I honestly have no idea how to feel about that draft b/c I'm just awful at fantasy football. Could def use any help.

I need to grab a backup QB now right? Or should I wait til Rivers' bye week? Still a lot of backup quality guys avlbl.

If anyone has a roster spot available and Arian Foster is still on the market I suggest picking him up. Slaton had a small injury yesterday and Foster was promoted to the starting RB position (before Slaton was injured). When given the touches last season he was a pretty damn good back and got a ton of goal-line carries. I think he can be a solid RB2 in deeper leagues. His stock is rising quickly so snag him while you can if possible.

Last night he went for 110yds on 18car for 1TD.
*First time in history a Texans RB has went over 100yds in a preseason game.

How many people are in this league? If it is any less than 16, that team is terrible. No offense. :chuckles:

10 person league, Point per reception, and QB scoring is 1 pt per 20 yards & 5 pts per TD

League plays two flex positions so I loaded up on RB's and WR's which left me with a QB by committee and no real TE unless Daniels comes back healthy.

And yes, I hate the Steelers, but so does everyone else I played with so all the good Steelers kept falling to me.

I think my 6 RB/WR spots are the best or near best of anyone in league with 2 top 10 RB's and 2 top 15 WR's. Thomas and Ward at the flex spots are better than a lot of guys normal starters. Felix Jones, Maclin, and S. Moss are three very good bench options IMO as well. I may try to package some of these guys to get a top tier QB, but that isn't likely in this league. Most trades never happen.

Unfortunately I thought the top 9 QB's would be taken and then I could have my pick of anyone else, but people started taking backup QB's as well before I even took Matt Ryan (11th round). Also, the top 5 or 6 TE's went in the 3rd and 4th round, which is very early, so I just waited until Round 10 to get Daniels.

What say you?

QB - Ryan, V.Young, Ben Rapistberger

RB - MJD
RB - Mendenhall

WR - Calvin Johnson
WR - Greg Jennings

TE - Owen Daniels

RB/WR - Pierre Thomas
RB/WR - Hines Ward/Felix Jones

DEF - Eagles

BENCH - Ward/Jones, Maclin, Santana Moss, Fred Taylor, Donald Brown, Rashad Jennings (MJD's backup)

You will need to make some trades two weeks into the season. In PPR leagues, you need some prime time recievers... and you don't have them. I predict you will be starting Maclin more often than the Carolina Smith this season.

I see running backs as cash, because once somebody has their running back injured, they start begging the rest of the league for a replacement. You need to be proactive to balance out your roster.

12 team, 1 keeper (lose the pick you drafted your keeper in), .5 PPR, otherwise pretty standard scoring league. I had the 8th overall pick. The other keepers in the league were Benson (8th round pick), Rodgers (3rd), Gore (1st), R.Moss (2nd), LeSean McCoy (9th), SJAX (1st), MJD (1st), Wayne (3rd), Dallas Clark (5th), Ray Rice (4th), Marshall (4th), Peterson (1st). Hopefully that gives you an idea of what I was working with.

1. Roddy White
2. Jamaal Charles (wanted Ryan Grant but he went the pick before mine. Ryan Mathews went a couple picks later and I regret not taking the chance on him)
3. Reggie Wayne (Keeper)
4. Knowshon Moreno (didn't realize his injury in training camp was as serious as it seems to be)
5. Joe Flacco
6. Felix Jones (was shocked to see him fall to this round, so I snatched him up. One of these years, right?)
7. Santana Moss
8. Kellen Winslow
9. Donovan McNabb
10. Kenny Britt
11. Heath Miller
12. Cincinnati D/ST
13. Laurence Maroney (he probably won't pan out to anything but I needed RB depth)
14. Some other stiff WR
15. Lawrence Tynes
16. Darius Heyward-bey

Overall I think I did ok with what I was dealt, but I'm very skeptical about my RB's. If my RB's pan out then I'm a very tough team to beat. I was a little upset that I wasn't able to handcuff atleast one of my RB's.

Thoughts?

Hate to say it, but I think that team is going to be near the bottom of the league..

You shouldn't have been shocked about the Felix Jones dropping to the 6th, they roll with 3 RB's in Dallas...

I think Jamaal Charles might be a flop this season. With the addition of Thomas Jones on that team I think he will end up with most of the goaline carries.

And I think Reggie Wayne as your keep wasn't very smart. I just think there are too many targets now on the Colts.

It is pretty damn hard to draft a team in a 12-team league, I feel pretty crappy about mine, see the first post of this thread.

I fully agree with your assessment of my team, but I honestly took BPA in the key positions that I needed when my picks came around.

Felix is expected to be the starter and from what was left in the RB category he was the best selection. I needed someone since I lacked a ton at that position.

Jamaal could be a flop but I still think he gets a majority of the work between the 20's and he's always a threat to break of a big one. Not to mention he gets quite a few targets out of the backfield, so the extra .5 PPR was a determining factor why I chose him. Thomas Jones does scare the hell out of me but remember he isn't running behind the stellar OL of the Jets anymore. It will be interesting to see how his production carries over.

I viewed Wayne as good value late in the 3rd round, so I wasn't too concerned in that aspect. The amount of weapons in Indy is a concern of mine but I didn't have many other options for a keeper, since I traded away some guys who I would've kept last year to make a run at the championship. I also kept Wayne as possible trade bait to get a top end RB since I knew I wouldn't have many options when my pick came around.

As far as your team goes, it seems pretty solid for a 12 team league. Your RB's are a little suspect but if Arian Foster pans out you should be fine. J.Stewart will be money come fantasy playoff time. Forte "should" put up better numbers in Martz's offense but he could lose some goal line carries to Chester "The Molester" Taylor. Your WR's are solid but are in wait and see scenario's.

TJ - just depends on who's throwing the rock to him and if the OL is good enough to give the QB time to throw. Forsett should be the most productive fantasy player on that team.
Marshall - who knows what Henne will do but I expect big things from that duo.
Jackson - probably should the least of your concerns b/c Kolb has a big arm and has shown he can succeed. I would still be a little cautious with him.

Your team is definitely better than mine. Lol.

12 team PPR with return yards also. Return guys get you 1 pt per 30 yards so it bumps up the value of Cribbs, Sproles etc.
