He drafted 4th. I will post my thoughts on this team later today. Don't have the time at the moment.

PPR League. 10 teams. I had the first pick. I'm pretty happy with it. I had a few brainfarts in the mid rounds but oh well. Tell me what you all think:

My Defense is Phillidelphia and my two defensive players are Curtis Lofton and Bernard Pollard.

I would say you should be pretty competitive in your league. I really can't find any holes in your lineup. You may struggle through bye weeks since your depth isn't all that impressive, but that's only a few weeks. You will be fine come playoff time, barring any significant injuries.

QB's - Solid starter and backup.
RB's - Solid #1 and #2. If Brown can stay healthy (40% chance) then you may have the best trio of RB's in your league.
WR's - This could turn out to be your weakest position. Miles has a little more competition with the addition of Dez Bryant, but should still get his targets. I know it's only pre-season but the Dallas offense has been absolutely awful so far. I'm not a big S.Smith fan but he should be pretty solid. Evans is a stiff, Royal could end up being your every week flex now that Marshall is gone.
TE's - Solid all around.
DEF - I think you will find yourself working the wire quite often to find a good matchup. You never know, your defenses could turn out to be tops in the league. There's always a few sleeper DEF's each year.

If Royal or S.Smith blows up in the first couple weeks I would look to package him with a RB and see what you can get in return. Doesn't hurt to throw a feeler out there.

12 team standard scoring ESPN league. 1 keeper per team.

I made a few big pre-draft moves... traded Ray Rice for an extra 2nd and 6th round draft pick, in order to keep SJax (it was simply a value play, not because I think SJax is better).

I then gave up basically my 8th and 10th, for Andre Johnson, whom I drafted 1st overall. I also had CJ spiller as an extra 'keeper' because I drafted him last year (we're allowed one college player per year, and we get them for free next year, as long as we keep their roster spot empty the whole season).

QB: Joe Flacco, Alex Smith
RB (start 2): Steven Jackson, Ryan Grant, Joseph Addai, CJ Spiller, Michael Bush, Clinton Portis
WR (start 3): Andre Johnson, Anquan Boldin, Mike Wallace, Pierre Garcon, Eddie Royal, Devin Hester
TE: Chris Cooley
D/ST: Browns
K: didn't draft one, will pick one up off waivers.
College: Ryan Williams (Virginia Tech)

Housh is out to prove the doubters wrong and is finally starting the season healthy.

I originally came back to mock you for making this prediction (Dick move, I know), but now I just want to point out the flaw in reasoning. His desire to prove the haters wrong isn't special or meaningful just because you're never going to see an article or news tidbit titled, "NFL Receiver bothered by doubters, uncertain of own skill."

Anyways, that's my piece.

In the league I'm in it's a point for every 20 rushing or receiving yards, 6pts for a TD.

I like a few of the WR's but RB's are all but gone.

Not too many good RB options there, you're better off going with WRs out of that list..

But as you asked:

RBs
1. Kevin Smith
2. Leon Washington
3. Corell Buckhalter

After that the rest of the RBs aren't really worth anything...

WRs
1. Patrick Crayton
2. Chris Chambers

After that a lot of the other WRs are in the same tier... Kevin Walter, Nate Burleson, Josh Morgan, Devin Hester, etc., are all solid options... After Chambers and Crayton, you really couldn't go wrong with any of those guys including some more of the WRs I didn't mention...

Is most likely not worth anything...

Is this just for next week or long-term?

My own opinion, but I'd add Britt and Crotchery (don't correct my spelling) for the next two weeks. They are the #1 receivers on the Titans and Jets for the next few weeks.

I also like Jacoby Jones and Leon Washington as short-term plays.

Here is my team... Pick 9th overall in a 12 team standard league. You start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K and a Defense.

QB: Carson Palmer, Chad Henne
RB: Frank Gore, Ryan Grant, Reggie Bush, Darren McFadden
WR: Randy Moss, Chad Ochocinco, Percy Harvin, Santana Moss, Braylon Edwards
TE: Tony Gonzales
K: Phill Dawson
D: Saints

Not 100% happy with my draft but I feel like I got a pretty solid team.

Could use any help/advice out there. I don't usually play Fantasy Football, but a few guys and I decided to do one this year.

My Team:

capturece.jpg

1. (6) Michael Turner RB
2. (19) Brandon Marshall WR
3. (30) Pierre Thomas RB
4. (43) Antonio Gates TE
5. (54) Michael Crabtree WR
6. (67) Jay Cutler QB
7. (78) Donald Driver WR
8. (91) Philadelphia DEF
9. (102) Nate Kaeding K
10. (115) Ricky Williams RB
11. (126) Heath Miller TE
12. (139) Austin Collie WR
13. (150) Arrelious Benn WR
14. (163) Byron Leftwich QB
15. (174) Indianapolis DEF

Since I don't think I'll need Indy's defense, I am dropping them and adding Santonio Holmes. I figure I could wait out the suspension, and then he might be valuable later?

I wasn't able to be around for the draft, so I have been making a few moves. As you can see, some have already happened.

Guys that are free agents. Anyone worth picking up?

My teams are going to be fun this year...

Auction:

QB Matt Ryan / Donovan McNabb
RB Michael Turner / Maurice Jones-Drew / Cadillac Williams / Darren Sproles
WR Andre Johnson / Terrell Owens / Devin Hester / Josh Cribbs / Mike Williams (TB)
TE Dallas Clark / Carlson
DST San Francisco
K Bironas

QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, W/R/T, DST, K
A little thin, but got 4 studs for fairly cheap... Defense scoring is ridiculous in this league, and gets return yards too, so 49ers do excite me.

Other two leagues are PPR, and start QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, RB/WR, DST, K

#2, 10 team
QB Aaron Rodgers / Donovan McNabb
RB Adrian Peterson / Jahvid Best / Jerome Harrison / Cadillac Williams
WR Larry Fitzgerald / Michael Crabtree / Percy Harvin / Terrel Owens / Mo Massaquoi / Lance Moore
TE Brent Celek
DST 49ers
K Garrett Hartley

Couldn't pass up the fall of Rodgers and Fitz.. and got some young blood to play around with...

#4, 12 team
QB Kevin Kolb / Matt Ryan
RB Matt Forte / Jonathan Stewart / LaDainian Tomlinson / Tim Hightower / Fred Taylor
WR Andre Johnson / Calvin Johnson / Miles Austin / Hakeem Nicks / Sidney Rice
TE Owen Daniels
DST Saints / Giants
K Mason Crosby

For some reason, in this PPR draft, nobody was taking wideouts in the 2nd round. This spelled wonders for my stacking... just really an indulgence of all the receivers I wanted this year, and still got good value for my RB's later on.
