BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. They shouldn't be blowing leads like that in the PLAYOFFS.The playoffs are different than the regular season. You can't be doing that shit. I don't care who you are, and how good you are.

Hope you didn't watch game 2 vs. the Pistons :chuckles:

I agree but they have had big leads in this recent series and still won the games by double fiqures. It is crazy how talented the Lakers are and because of it they get lazy. Not saying it's a good thing but they still win even after blowing big leads.

I did and I said it was an unacceptable and pathetic. We cleaned up our act so that it wouldn't happen again. You can't say the same for the Lakers.

Agreed

Especially at home and with your best player on the court!

Up 93-73 with 8:18 to go and 4 1/2 minutes later, you're only up 95-89 (which happens to be when the refs decided to let the Lakers rape Utah).. not to mention, in a 7 minute span (8:33 to 1:31), you score 3 points in the 4th quarter of a close out playoff game at home..

Definitely a cause for concern for the Lakers

They still won by 11 because a) Utah got no calls once they cut it to 6.. and b) Deron Williams did way too much dribbling once he came back in.

it's only a concern for L.A if it happens deep into the playoffs against good teams. Lakers have played more focused when playing good elite level teams from what i have seen

Who gives a sheeeeeet. When they actually lose a lead at home & lose then i'll be concerned. Phil knew Utah had no chance. In later rounds hes not gonna throw the bench in for that long if the lead gets within 10. Utah had a 0% chance of winning this series so i can care less. All i know is that odom is beasting it lately.

Phil is the type of coach that would rather win by 4 & rest his players then play them a grip & win by 20. Rotations & starters minutes will increase as the rounds get tougher.

Minutes played tonight: (Season avg in parenthesis)

Ariza - 27 - bad ankle (24.4)
Odom - 38 (29.7)
Pau - 36 (37.0)
Kobe - 43 (36.1)
Fish - 29 (29.8)

Vujacic - 24 (16.2)
Shannon - 19 (9.9)
Bynum - 12 - limited minutes - struggling (28.9)
Powell - 12 (11.7)

And they only played 9 guys..

What was your argument again?

Oh, and by the way, the Cavs knew the Pistons weren't going to win the series either, just to let ya know

I'm in no way comparing Utah to Detroit, but you just don't let big leads slip away in the playoffs, especially at home & with your best player on the court..

Cavs had the 1 minor meltdown w/ the bench bunch (ahem, no LeBron on the court while it was occurring) in the series.

-Um, it wasn't just the bench that was in there.. KOBE was in there with them!

-The rest of the starters returned when Utah cut it to 13

It is never good to blow leads in the playoffs but it hasn't hurt L.A in any way due who they were playing..utah were no threat to L.A and they knew that. the lakers lose focus against bad to average teams more than any other due to their talent level they can get away with it. they never do this against good teams. houston will give them a good series and you will see a different laker team in that sense as if they lose leads then well they should be concerned

Pau & Odom will play 42-43 minutes if Phil actually thinks a game is in jeopardy. Like i said it doesnt even matter in the 1st round. When they actually lose a game at home then you guys can bitch all u want. bring on houston. Yao is their only player over 7 feet tall. LA is gonna have a field day in the paint.

The East is garbage though other then Cleveland. The Cavs will be able to beat atlanta or miami in their sleep. The only team that matches up with Cleveland is Orlando & they can barely get by philly.

Yeah its definitely incredibly weaker. Cavs played the worse team in the playoffs while Jazz would be the 4th seed in the East with homecourt even with Boozer missing like most of the season. It is what it is. Celtics and Magic were gonna be the only other real good teams in the East and obviously Celtics are without their best player and Magic are stumbling with a sub par team. Not that I mind if the Lakers are gonna win it all they will beat who ever is in front of them. The only downside is possible longer series and injuries being more likely the more games you play.

Can this thread be closed? What a useless thread with a bunch of trolling going on now...
