Ill tell ya one thing. The West is gonna be interesting. It's basically all up for grabs. IMO each team has a realistic shot at making it to the Finals out there.

It was only 3 years ago we were in the playoffs.

Does it seem like a lifetime ago to anyone else?

I hope next year we sneak in, because I miss the excitement it generated.

The NBA playoff product is far superior to the regular season in my opinion.

Gonna watch the Celtics-Knicks game later, because a good friend of mine is a Celtics fan ugh...
Personally, I don't really root for any team these playoffs, would have supported my fellow countryman Dirk, but it is what it is :(

The Knicks will probably win the series, but I think the Celtics will win at least 2 games... Knicks in 6

Latter 2 rounds don't interest me- I hate to say it but it's a foregone conclusion that the Heat are going to walk with this thing. So few of the teams are even at full strength, having lost major pieces to injury- Kobe, Rose, Rondo, Amare, Granger, Gallinari, a ton of guys shaky- Ginobli, Pierce, Garnett, Nashy, Larry Sanders, Ilyasova, Billups, KMart, etc. Sure, some listed in injury reports are guys resting, but more teams are down a major piece than any other time in recent memory.

If even Chris Bosh is buying into the not "tipping your hand" strategy, they are going to steamroll. The strategy being they have 2 guys that can draw fouls at will- Lebron will go most of the game, controlling the pace legitimately. If/when teams are close in the 4th, Wade will roll out his "running into me, but I really ducked under you" bullshit to get calls. *This* is what Bosh is referring to not giving away. But we already know. Book it.

I still love Round 1, it's my favorite basketball of the year, every year. I miss the 5-game "upset" format. I would've liked HOU for an upset in the old format, but they're matched up with OKC anyhow.

This.

The only series that really interests me at all in the East is Heat/Knicks if it happens (and it probably will). That one could at least be interesting, especially if the Knicks get hot.

The West will be really fun though. In particular, I'm looking forward to the Lakers/Spurs and Thunder/Rockets first round series (although I suspect the Rockets will get gang-raped). With Kobe out, that Lakers team suddenly looks much more interesting and cohesive if Nash can stay healthy. Kobe was great this year, but I just don't think his style of play worked with the Gasol/Howard tandem, but with Kobe out...who knows? We saw how Dwight and Pau obliterated the Rockets a few days ago.

I miss the 5 game format as well.

Though no way in hell we get burned in 89 if it was a 7 game series

Denver over Seattle in 94 was one of the best series to watch.

I think the Lakers have real shot at beating San Antonio in 7.

Carmelo is 17-37 (.315) in playoff career, lowest personal playoff winning % of 451 players in history that have played in 50+ playoff games

Wow

Wow

Worth mentioning, but I think he only played in one playoff series prior to this year where his team was favored to win, and they won that one. Those Denver teams he was on were always good but never great.

can we just fast forward to OKC.. Miami please!

Really?

I'll be watching every playoff series as possible, but not any with Miami. Just hate how they demand calls from the officials, like they're the best thing to ever happen to the game of basketball. Shit gets annoying, it's not fun to watch.

They will probably win the championship rather easily, especially with Kobe Bryant out for the season just when you thought the Lakers were clicking somewhat. Only team that can stop them would be someone out West. Spurs if healthy, Clippers if lucky, Thunder if hopeful.

Curry pulling off a pretty convincing choke job right now. Could give Mo Williams a run for his money.
