2013 Series #34 -|- White Sox @ Indians -|- July 29th, 30th, 31st and August 1st

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Little late on the "what to do with Yan Gomes and company" discussion, but I would see what his value is in the off-season on the trade market. I just don't like the idea of moving Santana away from the plate. You keep him at catcher, his offensive numbers are elite. You move him to DH/1B, his numbers are just good for the position. Having a guy with that type of production at catcher is a huge advantage.

Elite numbers are elite numbers. If a 2B hits 40 homers, and a 1b hits 40 homers, one is no more elite than the other. They both hit 40.

HUGE STRIKEOUT!!!

Yikes.

Swagger, emotional burst.

Please, no more hyperbole...

Before I start having nightmares about "gamers" and "clutchness."

Wright won one other game in the WS, a game in which the Indians scored 10 runs. Getting to Game 7 had very little to do with Jaret Wright, who also got smoked in his only ALCS start as well.

He was OK in the ALDS, managing not to completely screw up despite giving his team a hole to climb out of.

You're drastically overrating the emotional impact of Jaret Wright, it happens. Memories of a greater time in Indians history tend to do that.

My point was they would not have made it that far without him, for what he did for the team. The pitching was very poor for a Ws team, and he gave the team a huge boost. Does not mean he had a great future, or was even great then., just means he was a huge factor in thier success. I was there, I know what I experienced. The crowd and his teamates loved him, he was a young guy who was fearless, and it did lead to new energy in the park, I dont care what you say
I never said he was a hall of famer, just that he is was a big part of the run. Young pitchers with great stuff can give teams a huge boost,

I just think Salazar has a better chance of being a game changer then Jimminez and even Kazmir ( I do like Kazmir)
Hitters have no book on Salazar, and his stuff is top notch. Is it a risk? Yes, but worth taking. It is a risk that can lead to a world series trophy if he catches fire, and yes I think he is that good.

Wright didn't really have great stuff, as evidenced by his low strikeout numbers. What he did for the team was take advantage of good run support while being completely mediocre. People really thought he was more than he was, some still do obviously but it should come as a surprise to no one that he didn't end up working out.

Anyway, Salazar does have great stuff, but pulling guys out of the rotation for doing their job extremely well is a horrendous message to send to your team. That's not a "risk," it's just horrible management.

If they stop doing their jobs well, there will be a time and a place for Salazar to come up. That time is not now.

Rich Hill gets out of it, NOOOOOO damage done!

You keep doing this....why?

Wholeheartedly disagree with this. We wouldn't get even close to value in return in a trade for Gomes.

Ryan Fucking Rayburn. :chuckles:

Make this bitch an everyday DH or something.

RYAN RABURN
THE BEST THERE EVER WAS
TWO HOMERUNS
FOUR RBI

Hill's still out there. I wonder when we're going to see Scrabble's first appearance?

So did the trade deadline scare Hill or something? He's been much better the closer that we got to the deadline.
