If there was a scenario where they ended up with Manziel and didn't leave me utterly devestated, copping a probable top 15 pick next year and not taking him early is a pretty good way to do it I guess.

It could have been worse.

Without question it's appaling that Haslam has so much sway in this pick, and a historically poor sign for any organization.

That seems like a stretch but who knows. I'm actually really surprised Benjamin went over him.

Lee is known as a good route runner and put up a more than respectable 40 (4.5).

Would love him.

We'll never know but would be very interesting to hear if Farmer and Co. was on board at all for Manziel.

From what's being reported, the plan pre draft was to trade with Phili if a QB was on the board. They had already had discussions.

Now, it's speculation as where they ranked their QB's but I really don't think a GM is taking a guy he doesn't believe in at a position as important as QB.

If he is, we're in a ton of trouble.

I just hope this pick was due to the fact that they love him as a player & has absolutely nothing to do with marketing & PR..

If it has more to do with the latter, I'll be severely pissed & will doubt Haslam as an owner.

Of course, there's no way to know for sure, just saying..
