2015-2016 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Big time gamble to trade a young center for a guy who's about to turn 28 and enter the last year of his contract. Imagine Atlanta would have to throw in a 1st too. This could really spell disaster for the 76ers; here's what will happen after the 16/17 season:

1. Teague bounces and the 76ers lose Noel for a 1 year rental
2. With the cap about to explode, they sign 29 Jeff Teague to $20m+ yearly over 5 years

Hate this trade for them

I hate it too But Noel is going to get paid next off-season too and he can't play the 4 in today's NBA. And Philly already has a ton of Cs.

I'm a little surprised Noels value isn't higher in that he is one of a limited number of guys that can switch PnRs and defend a wide array of threats. But I guess the TTs of the world don't hold much value after all.

All things considered equal, I'd rather overpay Noel at 22 and see what he can develop into rather than give that money to Teague who will be on the wrong side of his career at the end of the second year.

I'm sure Noel's skill set of being a versatile defender would be more well-known if he played on a playoff team.

Man I want Noel as I am not sure how we would get him but we are a shot blocker short of being a power house. When teams drive to the rim on us we look like chickens with no head. However Teague would be a nice piece over there with the first pick and all the bigs. Man I miss being in this position almost more than being in the finals sometimes. Of course this is better but I am getting away from the NBA as a fan and focusing more on the business and development side of things. If Noel makes the next step and ATL gets him they just got a heck of a deal if it happens.
