2015 NBA All-Star Weekend Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I am truly in awe at how much of a losing ball player Carmelo is. I mean, I knew it, I really did, but it's impressive how much of a team killer this man is.

I liked the tone LBJ set from the tip. He was the first to come out serious and it wasn't a blowout for long and I like it when these games are somewhat competitive. It doesn't get boring then. But I am in the minority when I say I don't like Westbrook's game. This cat is too damn selfish.

Carmelo played a big part in the East's win last year. Kyrie was racking up assists tossing it to him. It looks like he's playing hurt, honestly.

Paul Millsap was embarrassing last night. Couldn't buy a bucket and had some cringe worthy attempts at bringing the ball up the court. Love at 75% would have looked better out there, can't wait for him and Paul George to be on the East next year.

Come on, Jack. If he was "on" last night, fine, go ahead and shoot. But don't try to shoot your way out of a slump in the ASG. Also, who the F told him to play?!? What could have gone right yesterday by him suiting up? I think he was hurt too, so sit the F down and stop launching shots. It was pathetic.

All I saw was the body language of LBJ when he passed it to the black hole and realized it wasn't coming back. Then, dribble-dribble launch from 25, missed shot.

To be fair, it was an All-Star Game in his home arena. I don't blame him for playing, even if he was playing hurt. I also don't blame him for taking shots when guys were purposefully feeding him, especially early in the game. He's a shooter. That's what he does.

Yeah, he probably should have realized it wasn't his night and not taken so many shots, but I don't doubt that he was just desperately trying to put on a good show for his hometown fans. It just didn't work out for him.

I'd much rather have another week of real games and fewer back to backs throughout the season than the ASG. It's 2.5 hours of actual entertainment dragged out over 3 days. How about 3pt- Dunk and two 20min halves and call it a single day event day so we can get back to watching basketball of consequence.

I can't say I watched the game carefully, so I am in no position to argue. What I saw, which you are calling "purposeful feeding," I call "passing." Shoot if he's open, fine, but what I saw wasn't a bunch of uncontested shots. You are right - it is what he does - he shoots. A lot. It's the ASG so no big deal, he can do what he wants.

Now as far as him playing hurt, what kind of agent promotes this?!? How, with any outcome from ASG MVP to the garbage that happened, was this a good idea?!? If you crush it, the press is wondering why you are leaving your horrible team out to dry, and if you suck, I mean, you STILL weren't that hurt and you sucked. The only thing that I can think of is a contractual bonus if he started the ASG, but even then, if I am him, I score once and ask to be subbed. Has to be more to the story than we know about.

Well, I saw at least two players pass up open dunks to kick the ball out to Melo on the perimeter. I would consider that feeding him. All these guys know it's his home arena.

As far as him playing hurt, I agree it's kind of stupid. However, I disagree that, if he blows up, people would be all that critical of his play with the Knicks all year. More likely, they'd just point to it being the All-Star game and the total lack of defense played by anyone.

Exactly LeBron stopped playing once Carmelo tried to be the hero. His body language totally changed. He also took some falls so maybe he didn't want to drive anymore
