Tito just said the whole wound didn't open up, it was just a small part of the wound that caused it to bleed like it did. I bet he'll be good to go in a 5-7 days....

yeah but francona said it only opened in one spot, and hopefully he has a week to let it heal. that thing will be scabbed over just fine by the time the indians need him again

Honestly, I'm not even sure what tape does is that situation.

It could be revisited (wether pitchers should be able to tape a finger) but that type of bleeding (tonight) is going to soak through just about anything.

It might of made difference for a minor cut but one that is just leaking like that? Only time off is going to keep him on the mound (next time).....tape would have done nothing for Bauer once it broke open.

Stitches are usually fully closed in 10-14 days. Assuming he already has a 3 day head start (Tito said just a small part of the wound opened up) I would think he will actually be ok for 3/4 of the WS.
