I think that is more on the WRs, but overall I agree.JT Barrett hasn't really given the team a reason to call more pass plays on early downs. He hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire this year through the air.
Well, just on that drive, that 3rd down throw was terrible. Barrett needed to place that ball further outside. The WR definitely would have had a chance at it if it was placed better.Nobody on this team can get open. They have to rely on Barrett scrambling around for 6 seconds to have any type of throwing lane.
That's a tight window for Barrett. His strength has never been fitting balls into tight windows. His strengths have been getting the ball to right guy, and knowing when run and get what he can. The WRs haven't been great, but Barrett in general has not looked the same since that injury against Michigan in 2014.
Not saying he's bad or anything, just hasn't been at that same level he was in 2014.
