Hendricks splits this this year:

4-5 days rest: 11-8, 2.70 ERA, 0.997 WHIP
6+ days rest: 5-0, 0.83 ERA, 0.735 WHIP

Thank god he's just on his normal rest. :chuckle:

100% Rajai. As to where in the lineup. . . . That's tough. I think Tito should shake it up a bit.

Crisp
Kipnis
Lindor
Napoli
Santana
Ramirez
Chisenhall
Perez
Davis

Make a bold move

I like this although I think the risk/reward of putting Davis at top of line-up for CoCo makes more sense. I'd also like a low K guy in CoCo behind Ramirez and Santana for situational hitting.

The more I think about it, I think I'd go:

Davis
Kipnis
Lindor
Napoli
Santana
Ramirez
CoCo
Lonnie
Perez

If Davis can get on one time, it's almost worth it just to see the disruption he creates on the base path.

Jesus man, come on. How was he out of gas? He gave up 1 run in 6 and struck out 6.

He grinded, and he needed to. His two seamer wasn't moving. He threw more breaking balls to make up for it, but the Cubs make adjustments. They were squaring him up though, and now their whole lineup is hitting the fuck out of everything. If Kluber doesn't have every pitch at his full disposal tonight, he has no chance.

"Out of gas" is hyperbole, but he isn't nearly as sharp on short rest. He would've given up two jacks in game 4, had there not been strong winds blowing in. He got away with some stuff, coming off short rest. Coming off short rest against Toronto, he also got knocked around a bit, but thankfully the pen worked masterfully.

I expect him to pitch well tonight....but it's fair to wonder how much he'll have. I for one am hoping there is another strong wind blowing in tonight. We have more line-drive hitters to their HR swingers. Just need to string a few hits together....

I don't agree, I thought he looked as sharp as ever in game 4. Definitely don't think the wind held back 2 HRs. Against Toronto, it was his first time pitching on short rest. He admitted after the game that he expected his legs to give out at some point, and pitched a little tentatively, but realized after the game that he had the strength and conditioning to do it no problem. He proved in game 4 that he can go out there on short rest, and still have his best stuff.

Also, what the hell is going on on Stubhub? How are there suddenly 5,000 tickets posted this morning?

This doesn't make any sense that the day of the game there's suddenly 13% of the capacity up for auction.

It seems fairly obvious that MLB was withholding a ton of tickets to just dump on the re-sale market if this went to game 7.

I was watching last night and around 2,000 tickets sold from the end of the game until I went to bed. So that puts the secondary market at 7,000+ seats (almost 20% capacity?) for a game 7 of the world Series? That is ridiculous. In what would is 1 out of every 5 fans selling a ticket to maybe the biggest game in team history?

It wil be miserable to see how many Cubs fans are at this game.

Kip, Lindor, and Jose are the 3 guys I trust the most to get hits right now. I don't like separating them by that much. I wouldn't mind bumping Napoli down to 6 at all. Take some pressure of him maybe.

Not really sure what the obsession is with putting Davis or Crisp in the leadoff spot.

Personally, I'd prefer to put in someone who is getting on base. Like leaving Santana there.

With a righty on the mound, I don't understand how Davis makes any sense as the leadoff hitter.

I agree with you, but since Davis batted 1st in game 4, I think there's a chance he does tonight as well.

I'd go:

Santana
Kipnis
Lindor
Ramirez
Napoli
Crisp
Chisenhall
Perez
Davis

However, I think there's not a big chance of Napoli getting moved down.

Francona did it once already, albeit in an NL park, and moving Smooth to the 4 slot.

I'm OK with Santana staying in lead-off, but I really hope Davis starts in CF. If Davis isn't hitting lead-off, I'd prefer him in the 9 hole I think. Let the line-up turn over at the top with a speed guy. I don't like Perez hitting behind Davis.

My only change would be flipping CoCo and Nap. I'd hit CoCO 5th, given his numbers with RISP and his ability to beat out DP's but I know that's a tough call.

Napoli was awful against Hendricks in game 4. 0-4 with 3 SO's. I just don't know how you keep him in the run producing spot with how bad he has been. He's 1 for his last 9 in this series and hasn't had an extra base hit since October 19th. He hasn't driven in a run since October 17th.

We are in the best position possible...Game 7 at home with our best pitcher on the mound...Now is not the time to give up...grow some balls Cleveland!

Here is some post-game 4 thoughts on Kluber facing the Cubs multiple times via Fangraphs
Corey Kluber was asked on Friday if facing a team back-to-back will require him to make more adjustments than usual. His answer, presumably predicated on the fact that he dominated in Game One, was a classic yes-and-no.

“I don’t think so,” said Kluber. “They’re obviously going to make adjustments based on last game. I’m going to make adjustments based on last game, and it’s going to be that cat-and-mouse game. But I think anytime you face a team back-to-back or in a short span… I mean, that’s always the case.”

Kluber ended up throwing more curveballs and fewer cutters in Game 4, but the bigger adjustment came from the Cubs. The righty reacted as per usual.

“They were definitely more aggressive this time around,”Kluber said after the game. “But that’s how most lineups approach me, so it wasn’t anything we had to figure out on the fly. We kind of stuck with the game plan we usually stay with when that’s the case. It was pretty easy to recognize early on what they doing tonight, so we kind of just adjusted to it.”

Terry Francona said that Kluber “didn’t have his best breaking ball” early, but was able to “define it” as the game went on. Given as how the Indians may need their ace in a Game 7, Francona was pleased that they were able to limit him to 81 pitches.

People talk like the Cubs hitters are the only ones allowed to make adjustments. You better believe Kluber has a gameplan in mind as well.

Is anybody worried about Kluber pitching on double short rest?
