2017-2018 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well. No real way to explain that away outside of Boston just being really good.

And wed be in serious trouble if they had Hayward.
We be in trouble without Hayward...Celts defense is just elite right now...holding GS to under 90 is impressive...I dont care how many good looks they missed

No they don't have enough shot makers to win close games in the playoffs.

Milwaukee, however...

Well I'm assuming their D drops off from where it is, too, but if it didn't...yeah...they'd have us.

Can't wait for the meltdown when GS hangs 130 on us on Christmas, and the prevailing theme will be how the East now belongs to Boston.

At this point it's damn near a yearly tradition.

LOL at Shit Bayless. Nobody gives a fuq about a “statement” in mid-November. We beat GSW last Christmas - that was a nice win but it meant nothing in June.

Damn, the Celtics are the real deal. Irving might just nab that MVP. His defense has been elite, and he is playing within a system but still averaging close to his usual career average of 21 points and 45%% shooting. Guess that is what he can do with a real coach.

You say that like it's far from the truth

No. He won't.

Kyrie Irving isn't even the Celtics MVP atm and I will bet any amount of money donated to RCF that he doesn't finish top 5 in MVP voting.

His defense has been elite
What are you smoking? I'd like some.

The Celtics D has been elite, mostly despite Kyrie. I give him a ton of credit for putting in the most effort of his career on that end, but he still dies on every screen, gambles too much, and watches the ball way too often. He's got a team full of switchy, plus defenders and a scheme doing a masterful job at hiding him and not putting him in positions to get embarrassed. His DRPM has him middle-of-the-pack as far as PG's go. His backcourt partner Marcus Smart? #2 in DRPM in the entire NBA for guards.

His USG and FGA is pretty much the same as it was last year. Efficiency is down(thanks to not having LeBron, most likely) He's not being limited in any way by the system in terms of opportunity. And Boston's offense is absolutely not the reason they're 14-2.

Props to Boston for their early dominance as a team. It's been quite impressive.

But Kyrie is really just the same exact Kyrie that we all know and used to love. (not a knock...Kyrie is a really good player...but going to Boston didn't magically unlock anything about his game, at least not yet. With the exception of defensive effort...but that's more of a choice Kyrie made to start trying)

Celtics appear to be #1 in the league right now

Kyrie just got his team a win VS GS

We barely beat NOH

smh
