2017-2018 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Also, Houston is gonna be stupid good with CP3 healthy, on both ends of the court. Can't quite match the Warriors in terms of top-flight talent, but they match up extremely well against them at least in theory.

Got to stop including record. I don't even like that's he's the MVP.

It speaks to how bad we really are. Because right now, we're not even that good. We rely on him.

Without him, no doubt in my mind, we couldn't win 20 games.

We are bottom of the barrel bad.

Everyone will say you gotta wait for IT to come back. I hate to break it to some. IT's impact wasn't really that great last year for the Celtics.

His advanced stats sucked for a supposed great player, a lot, despite having his by greatest season ever.

Sure he's going to bring more offense, but him and LB I think are going to struggle to adjust with each other, and his defense is really awful. And we are already awful on that end.

That's why I'm not that excited as some, thinking he's just all that's missing for this team.

Cavs are missing young and athletic wings. Which is why we should have held out for Brown or Tatum, in the Kyrie deal. And Brad Stevens, too, I suppose.

It’s always hard to say, because it’s always hard to know to whom the refs with gift FTs. Today, Harden gets 7-8 touch fouls; tomorrow, Steph might. The next day, Coward might. The days after that, Mr. Flat Earth might.

Surely the Grizz can be convinced that Derrick Rose back in Memphis is must see basketball!

Or perhaps that Calderon is the cultural piece needed to both play PG and keep Gasol happy with the presence of a fellow countrymen.

Beyond the obvious(Gasol), Tyreke Evans has had a really good season so far. Don't know if a season ending injury to Conley would make either of them available just yet though.

Your opinion, you are entitled to it. NBA writers think he is in the ladder, and fans of other teams chanting MVP when he is not in the Garden can't be happenstance...We knew this kid for awhile now; if anything, he gets better in the postseason.

Man, wouldn't it be crazy if he got on an all-defensive team? Him!? I felt crazy even saying that shit.....

the MVP of the Celtics is Hortford. Kyrie looks like 3rd tier level PG-all star right now

This might sound odd but what has impressed me with Kyrie this year is that he is not gunning for MVP. For all the talk of him going there to be The Man he has actually been playing in a very controlled manner, as part of a team and a system, taking fewer shots, deferring to the hot hand.

Looks as if, like Durant, he is enjoying being part of a functioning team rather than an individual based approach. My background is European football(soccer) almost impossible to win consistently if individuals try to do it by themselves, makes me appreciate that team mentality in basketball even though the sport allows greater individual dominance.

OKC in the process of blowing an early 23 point lead to the Spurs, who are still playing without Kawhi.

That's a team(OKC) that has far more to sort and figure out than the Cavs. Even if their big 3 get it together, I think their current bench is maybe the worst amongst the presumed title contenders.

Edit: Now the Spurs are doing everything in their power to blow it. Multiple missed FTs, allowing a steal in the backcourt, allowing an offensive rebound on a missed OKC FT

Boogie and the boys are taking a mile high beatdown. It's hard to see this team withstand some type of playoff caliber basketball until February. They just don't have the shooters, or guards for that matter. Boogie should be on the block and Pelicans will be looking for a building block for sure. That franchise cannot risk Boogie bolting.

Kyrie's dad is going to ask for Horford to be traded before he'll sign a long term deal

He can say that stupid $#!+ because he knows even if LeBron 4-0's Boston, Cleveland is still losing to Golden State in the finals unless something happens/changes.

On second thought.. that's not all what Curry said apparently. From McMenamin's article:
"It's very, very likely, right?" Curry said. "They're playing the best right now in the East, and obviously, until they beat Cleveland, who's done it three years in a row -- so we'll see, but I hear the weather is great here in June."

I'm gonna keep harping on it, but Sabonis is the real deal and Pritchard did just fine with that trade and now they have two centers on rookie deals that hold a good amount of value around the league if they ever felt like trying to move one for a better fitting player before they have to extend them.

I remember I had a conversation with rchfld I think during the 2014 draft that I would trade Tristan for any of those top 7 picks (obviously the 1st three). But I felt the next four guys were all gonna be better. And, so far, I'd still trade Tristan for 3 of them (Smart, Julius Randle, and Aaron Gordon).

But I was high on Exum and he just hasn't panned out at all. Can't stay healthy ever. And when he has been healthy he hasn't made a difference.
