That was amusing! He’ll do ok for them, have plenty of 30point games etc but this guy is never a leader in a million years and he can’t run an offence. He’s an excellent sidekick not the main man and Boston will find that out the hard way!
I'm worried about Kyrie
Not his game, but his personality and leadership. First, with some of the crazy stuff he said over the summer and the passive aggressive comments towards the Cavs. But, I guess whatever he says in the offseason isn't too relevant... can't judge players by that.
But I am TOTALLY concerned with the "leadership" he has been displaying on the court, specifically this Bucks game that's currently going on. Scal mentioned that he listened in on a huddle and Kyrie was yelling at someone for failing to get a pass to him. Then, when Jaylen got in between Kyrie and a pass, Kyrie started totally yapping at him. The camera actually switched to Jaylen's face right as he was rolling his eyes.
Blaming people and pointing fingers is NOT leadership!! The thing that happened with Jaylen was completely understandable... accidents like that happen at least once or twice a game. Also, I don't like the idea of Kyrie yelling at anybody regarding passing. Not only is that somewhat hypocritical for a notoriously iso-oriented player, but that's Brad's purview. Stevens can - and will - handle that stuff. IDK what Kyrie learned while being "the man" on a crappy team, nor what he learned under Lebron, but I really, really don't like what I'm seeing so far. That could hurt the solidarity of the team long run, and it wouldn't take too much to subvert the culture after Ainge just traded away our heart and soul.
Anyway, not trying to hate on Kyrie, but I'm legitimately concerned at the way he has been conducting himself professionally.
This should not be a surprise, given how poor Kyrie looked in games when LeBron didn’t play last year2 games, 39.0 mpg
19.5 ppg (35.7% shooting from the field), 6.5 apg, 4.0 rpg, 3.0 spg
14.3 PER
Plus/minus -3
I think Kyrie will soon start to appreciate just how much easier LeBron made the game for him. And just how much better LeBron made him look, compared to what he really is as a player.

To add, this shouldn't be a surprise, considering what Kyrie looked like on the Cavs before Lebron came back. He will shoot you out of wins when his shot is off b/c he provides nothing on the defensive end. He will will you to wins when he's on because he's one of the craftiest scorers the league has ever seen but even when surrounded by elite shooters, he will look to score first and pass second.
It's hilarious to see BOS fans freaking out about his "leadership" because he doesn't have any leadership qualities BUT this is no secret. He's incredibly talented but incredibly immature. His dad has seemingly pulled him left and right since he's been in the NBA and his fucking mentor is Kobe Bryant. Are people actually surprised that Kyrie doesn't possess leadership traits?
Players or people in general hate wannabes. People listen to you when they sense leadership qualities... trying to act like one is going to rub people the wrong way, especially when you act lazy on both sides of the floor.
Some offensive players can still be a net positive even if their defense sucks. Problem with Kyrie is that he is so lazy off the ball, he stays in one corner, he doesn't cut hard when guys set him picks and he doesn't have the gravity of players like Curry and or even Lillard with or without the ball.
