2017 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Kipnis went 2-4 in Columbus yesterday in what was his first attempt to play back to back days. Could see him back on the next home stand.

Though sadly that means we are sending Diaz, who I wanted to see stay up a bit longer, but that's alright. Where do you think he will hit in the lineup?

Looks like they may be aiming for the weekend.

One of the top 3 spots, probably either 2 or 3.

It's probably Kipnis 2, Lindor 3--just like we had last year. Stick the lefty (Kip) between the two switch hitters (Santana/Lindor).

The other option is Santana/Lindor/Brantley 1/2/3, then Kipnis at 6. Especially with Kip just coming up, this might be more likely.

I still think it's possible Kipnis 1 and Santana 5/6 in the lineup

Don't think Tito is going to move Brantley from the 3-hole.

Something to be said for easing Kipnis back in by putting him 6th, let the top of the lineup sort itself out, especially if the ineffectiveness early in games continues.

So whats happening with the Indians? They really started the year very underwhelming.

And whats up with Encarnacion?

Nothing happening, just a small sample size of baseball.

Encarnacion is historically a slow starter.

Well I keep hearing that almost everyone is a slow starter, lol. Kluber, the Indians, now Encarnacion....who else?

And how is it that a team like the Yankees can win 7 in a row, and we are struggling.

You keep hearing that because it's true. Look at their career numbers in April. I make a point of never drafting Encarnacion in fantasy baseball, but I always try to trade for him when the calendar turns to May.

And to answer your question as to how the Yankees can win 7 in a row while we sit around .500... small sample size baseball

With the way Ramirez is hitting, I'd much rather see him up in the leadoff spot. My ideal line-up would be:

  1. Kip
  2. Lindy
  3. Smooth
  4. EE (start hitting)
  5. JRam
  6. Santana
  7. Chiz
  8. Perez
  9. Almonte

I'm sick of hearing about Santana being in a contract year. Well then, start hitting with 1 less at bat (and earn your supposed next big contract) and get on base for the bottom/turn of the order.

Kip's #s are not that great batting beyond #4, so I see him going back to leading off (at least when all is said and done).

There's a lot you can do with the line-up, but I think having Santana at #1 is not the way to go. I'd really like to see JRam get up in 1-3, but it would mean Smooth or Kip at 5 (I might be open to Smooth at 5, but I don't think Tito rocks the boat that way).
