2017 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I dont believe in 1st round rb's typically, or atleast early 1st.

But i think we might need to use a 2nd rounder on one.

I'm not sure I really understand the logic behind this one.

I dont think we have a big explosive back, maybe we just need better lineman, but upset seeing the running game be 2.8 yards and a cloud of dust.

I'm all for that, I just don't understand what makes a running back a bad idea in round one if you're able to justify it in round two.

If the player/need is good enough to justify the selection by a round, you take the player.

Say, if Fournette is available, I'm not going to object based on the position being off-limits.

Now, I'd also argue the player at said position needs to be truly elite to justify taking a running back that high. But I can't say I'd be opposed to it off spec.

Crowell isn't really the problem, I don't think?

I'm more concerned with the line and quarterback.

You might be right. The running numbers werent bad. The QB play was, and i know our WR were very young and our TE dropped 3 balls.

The line didnt play bad, but it seems our center sure did. Anyone have any idea how our line graded out at each position?

Crowell might not be the problem, but he's really not a solution either.

I'm sure a lot of people turned it off, but 40 of those yards came from 3 draws at the end of the game when the defense literally gave no shits about the game.

Take out complete garbage time and Crow had 9 carries for 22 yards. He wasn't good.

Thanks, thats what i saw with my eyes, then i went to review the numbers and the looked decent.

So back to needing an every down back.

Crow isn't bad, but he certainly isn't good. The 2017 RB class is very very talented so I'm hoping we don't pass on one this year.
I definitely don't think Crow is the most pressing problem, but watching David Johnson last night it's like when is it our turn to find a guy that electric in round 3.

You'd be amazed at what even a DECENT QB can do for a teams running game.....

Find the QB and the running game with be much much better.

I was head over heels for that dude two drafts ago.

He was as close to a can't miss mid-round guy as you're going to get. Just a flat out beast at UNI.

When Royce Freeman and Jalen Hurd are currently the #8 and #9 rated RB's in the 2017 draft, you know it's a loaded position.

I think 2017 is going to be a great class overall, so it's nice we have a shitload of picks. Would not be surprised at all to see us grab an elite back in Rd 1 or 2 (Fournette, Cook, Chubb, McCaffrey). But even if they opt to address depth and need elsewhere, there's still going to be great talent available in Rd 3-5. Guys like Shock Linwood, Elijah Hood, James Connor, Royce Freeman, Sony Michel, etc.

I haven't gotten to see either Clemson game this year. What has been their issue? Is Watson regressing or is it the fault of the guys around him?

We need one of these QBs to separate themselves from the pack in this class. Myles Garrett is a great player and I hope we can get him...but only if we also get the top QB in this draft. We CANNOT continue to neglect the position.

Watson, Falk, Rudolph, Kizer, Kaaya...

I think taking Watson over Garrett would be one for the record books in terms of draft day mistakes
