2017 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'd take this in a heartbeat. Checks about all of my "boxes" and gets both Trubisky & Garrett.

There are five guys in this draft who I think are Pro Bowl caliber players at the NFL level:

EDGE MYLES GARRETT TEXAS A&M

S JAMAL ADAMS LSU

QB MITCH TRUBISKY NORTH CAROLINA

CB QUINCY WILSON FLORIDA

C PAT ELFLEIN OSU

OT CONOR MCDERMOTT UCLA

CB MARQUEZ WHITE FSU

EDGE VINCE BIEGEL WISCONSIN

DL DALVIN TOMLINSON BAMA

RB JAMES CONNER PITT

OT JON HECK NC

Trubisky ain't lasting to the 2nd found fellas. 1st QB off the board.

Also take it FWIW..everyone is down on Watson, but his numbers are nearly identical to last year.

Started off slowly, still not living up to the growth curve that you'd like to see or the hype, but that comes down to the players around him too, which I don't know enough about. He'll likely FLY up draft boards if he balls out in the ACC championship game and playoff game(s).

I may be missing something, but I'm not sure I buy the "players around him excuse" which I'm not saying you're using, but I've seen it elsewhere as well. Wayne Gallman is still behind him and he has a 1st round WR in Mike Williams he's throwing to this year. Did he even lose any skill player to the NFL last year?

I looked it up. Clemson lost Peake (WR) in the 7th round and gained a 1st rounder in Mike Williams, who missed last season with a broken neck. I'm struggling to see how he has less to work with.

If I recall, everyone said that about Jameis Winston after he regressed between his Sophomore and Junior years. I think it's just natural to regress a little when everyone tells you that you are the consensus #1 pick. Maybe it's fear of getting injured or maybe it's boredom. I think Watson will fly up the board in the offseason once they have workouts and the combine.

Yep...I'll be watching closely for sure, if for no other reason, because of who he'll be playing against...

I have not been impressed in the 3 or 4 games of his I have watched.

Same is true for Trubisky in the 2 games i have seen.

But I might be judging Harsh.

Last year I liked 2 QB's, Goff and Dak.

This year i am not sold on anyone, but highest on Trubisky.

I just don't see Trubisky being there for the Browns' second pick in the draft..

Jason Cole just pisses me off. I know it's partially BR's fault, but every single one of his "Insider Buzz" videos is just regurgitated information from multiple other news outlets. Could be the first QB off the board? Could play for the Browns? Could use another year in school?

...smh

Things that were intriguing:

(for Philly Pick)

11. Jourdan Lewis, CB, Michigan

Unlike his Big Ten counterpart King, Lewis is likely to be knocked down some draft boards because of his lack of ideal size (he is listed at 5-feet-10, 175 lbs). However, he has been every bit as dominant over the past three years, highlighted by the fact that this year on 35 throws into his coverage he has as many total balls defended, 10, as he does receptions allowed. QBs have a rating of 16.0 when testing Lewis this season, and for the past three years at Michigan that figure sits at 39.6.

(for Tennessee Pick)

32. Quenton Nelson, G, Notre Dame

Nelson was excellent as a first-year starter last season, but has been downright dominant for much of the 2016 campaign. After giving up three sacks and two hits in 2015, he has conceded no sacks and just one hit this year. He also has a run block grade of 85.3, and his overall grade of 86.7 ranks fourth-best in the country.

------------

Those aren't the biggest positions of need, but those are some staggering figures!

I'd like Lewis so much more if he weren't like 5'10 or below.
