Rondo going down changed it all. Not because he's a super great player. Because you're replacing an above average point guard with absolute dog shit. And that make a big difference.

I'd posit Rondo also makes a difference because Hoiberg is far and away the worst coach in the NBA. There is a reason why the Bulls knew the Celtics plays and had "creative" offense when Rondo played. Both of these things should be expected of teams in the playoffs, but Hoiberg doesn't know/do them, so it's tough to ask that of the players.

This series is just somewhat sad. D.Wade and Jimmy Butler should be the best two players on both rosters but you can just tell they have nothing to play for.

Not for their coach, not for their organization/jersey/city, and not for their teammates. What little effort they're putting in is strictly for their pride.
