FSU grad here who was a team manager for two years under Leonard Hamilton....
Really fun team to watch, but they can't shoot a lick so they'll meet their maker at some point. I have to say, it was nice to see Hanilton finally loosen his grip on the offensive side of the ball by allowing his kids to play uptempo and less structured.
Hamilton has always recruited well but he's bottle-necked the offense by playing in a "grind it out" system that has always left them in tight, low scoring games.
Anyways, FSU is the most athletic team in the country with their size, and having 4 guys on the court at all times that can grab a rebound and go. Unfortunately free throw shooting and 3 pt shooting just aren't good enough to consistently beat the better teams.
I thought it was kinda laughable so many analysts were taking FGCU to best FSU when they literally play the same style, yet FSU was considerably more talented.
With Sumter at Xavier out for the season, I like the Noles against Xavier, but it gets difficult after that. At some point not being able to shoot outside 18 feet and being terrible from the stripe will catch up. But it's really fun watching Terrence Mann (6'8"), Ojo (7'1" - 325lbs), Jonathon Isaac (6'8"), Dwayne Bacon (6'8"), and their PG who goes 6'4"....
4 guys 6'8" or taller and all 4 can can grab a rebound and push. Bacon and Isaac are both first round picks as well with Bacon being a lottery pick. It's fun to watch....
