We should be happy if Lindor can end up being as productive as Santana has been throughout his career

You realize Lindor hit over .300 last year and the year before (99 games), right?

I think he's capable. If he puts up Carlos Santana numbers (Lifetime .245 hitter and averages 115 strikeouts per year) I think we should be disappointed.

Right now he seems impatient and has a long swing.

Lindor is slumping for sure, no argument.

You can't seriously measure a player's value by BA% though, nobody will ever take you seriously doing that. Santana has been a well above average offensive player throughout his career thanks to his patience, and power.

Santana's career numbers in wOBA, OPS+, and wRC+ are all superior to Lindor's. So, while Lindor would surely accomplish those numbers in a vastly different manner, I'd be very happy if he could be as productive as Santana has been at the plate throughout his career.
