LOL. This idea that this front office can't draft is ridiculous and, more importantly, it's demonstrably false.
Who did they draft in the first four rounds last year that looks like they can't play in the NFL? People shit on the Coleman pick, but if he busts it's going to be due to injuries, not talent. When he's been on the field, he's looked good, and that's despite our less than ideal QB situation.
And this year, we got Garrett and Njoku in the first. For all the talk about how they always trade down and pass on elite talent, they traded up and got Njoku, who certainly looks like he has elite potential.
The problems with this team are an overall lack of talent and bad coaching. The lack of talent is largely due to the fact that, when our current front office took over, the cupboard was bare. The previous regimes blew draft pick after draft pick on guys who are either out of the NFL or bad. Meanwhile, this regime comes in and drafts a bunch of guys who look like actual NFL players. The issue is that they don't have a single guy they drafted that's past their second year in the league. These guys are all still incredibly young an inexperienced, and our coaching has been, I think we can all agree, less than ideal.
It seems like a lot of people are butthurt that we passed on a couple of QBs who look good in much better situations and are ignoring that the guys we actually did draft look pretty good, which is a hell of an improvement over the past several regimes.
