2018-2019 Tank Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
WTH!?!? Got home from my late shift, checked the score and had to change my underwear. We had better not fall out of the top 3 because teams mail it in like the Raptors apparently did, and others have.

The insane thing is that the Lakers will have added Lebron James and have an increase of about 4 wins to show for it. Granted they lost Julius Randle, but they also lost Clarkson so that should be worth something. But Lebron left Cleveland and we dropped 30 wins. He joined the Lakers and they gained only 4.

A lot of factors here. West is considerably stronger than east. He missed a lot of games. He doesn't have an instant legacy in la, and he has to earn it. I think this is hard to do at age 34 and he is mentally not ready to do that. This results in problems with other players and the coach.

Well, the Lakers were in the West both last season and this season, so that's not a control factor per say, although the others all are.

There is a developing team chemistry factor for the first year, and the fact that the Cavs teams were built specifically for LeBron.

You can see the same apparent diminishing returns, albeit to a lesser degree due to better team fits than the Lakers, with how the Heat only improved 11 wins the first year after adding LeBron and the dinosaur, and the Cavs "only" added 20 wins the first year after adding Love and LeBron.

Raptors on a back to back and didn't come out ready to play against us. Lowry couldn't keep up with Sexton. All our starters played well.

No need to worry; we get our own back-to-back disadvantage tomorrow night @ Philly; granted, we got our first road win of the season there early on...

Cavs are 5-4 since the All Star Break, add a couple of good players through the draft or free agency and it they will be a lot of fun to watch again. It amazes me the team chemistry they are showing for a team that is limited.

Although I want them to move on from drew he has done as good a job as possible this year
These are nothing games in reality but team is playing hard and with joy

I'll be honest, I haven't watched very many games. 95% of the season I know from box scores. Why shouldn't Drew be considered for next year and on?

The team as is ,is playing better, they just lack 2 super players .

Team has been playing great lately, and it's saying something for a bottom feeder to be playing with passion this late in the season. Then again, so are the Suns apparently.

But Drew has pretty much stated he doesn't want to be the head coach.

The thing about hiring a new coach is, you aren't going to attract top talent without a great situation. You can take fliers on first time coaches with a good resume, which is what I think we should do. But do we have the situation in Cleveland to sign who we think is the BEST candidate? I don't know.

Player development coaching is still super key next year.

I heard Odell is taking over for Knight in the starting line up?

I am really enjoying the spoilers tag. We prob can't get in front of the Bulls with the remaining schedules.

I think this is exactly what I wanted. To be in the #3 spot with improving young guys who fight every night as opposed to the #1 spot and feeling like if we don't get the #1 we are screwed. I really really want #1 or #2, but even #6 I think we can get Culver and we will be alright.

Lets Go Lotto!

Zion or Bust

Watched him last night. There’s no way he’s a bust in the NBA. High ceiling with his combo of speed, size, strength and agility. Can see his instincts for the game. Got fatigued at times vs Carolina, took some possessions off. But he competes on both ends.
Barrett didn’t have a good game at all, still ended up with 15/8. He will take a bit longer, needs to get stronger, develop counter moves. Won’t be able to bully guys in the NBA immediately. Took some bad shots.
Got to get first or second pick.

Post was "Zion or Bust."

We have only a 14% chance at Zion and 13.4% chance of second pick. "Got to get first or second pick" is considerably against the odds.

I do have a question.
Since we know the NBA (wink-winks) has in fact gifted us the first overall several times...do we legitimately have a shot at this one?
I ask because the Knicks, Bulls are within range to land it. Is this NBA going to "gift us" for our silence/playing along with LeBron again or would the lights of putting Zion in a big market be too big?
(Also...Durant, Kyrie could both be Knicks if that rumor is to be believed...)
