2018 ALDS | Cleveland Indians vs. Houston Astros | Starts Oct. 5th

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Otero is still decent enough as a ROOGY to warrant a spot.

It is a little concerning that 3 of the 6 relievers are basically one out guys, but Bieber or Bauer can give extended innings if it comes to that.

One troll going to bat for another.

I wouldn’t call Otero a 1 out guy. Historically, he’s been a multi-inning guy. Let’s just hope we don’t need to see him on the mound at all.

I meant one out guy in the respect that he has struggled so badly against left-handed hitters this year that you would probably only be comfortable with him facing one right-handed batter v. pitching an entire inning and having to face any left-handed hitter.

Obviously his arm his conditioned to go multiple innings.

Does Bieber’s tendency — perhaps not tendency — but capability of getting tagged for 4 in a single inning concern anyone with him in a relief role?

Not sure what the actual metric says but it seems like when he gives up runs it’s in a cluster somewhat consistently a la 4 runs in the 5th.

Perhaps he’s no more prone for such an inning than any other starter we have but I’m just thinking out loud

Is Kluber healthy? Him, Carasco (second post season for CC), Clevinger are good enough to get this job done.
Throw in Bieber and Baurer (who will get healthier the longer they go) and this starting staff should terrify Houston.

I believe the stats would show that his first time through a lineup he is damn effective. But second time around hitters adjust. So in a relief role, as long as he isnt coming into the game in the 2nd he should be just fine

If he produces, will you stop posting?
Cmon man he’s been terrible this year...tell me you trust him in an important situation...he’s reached Mcallister level for me

Series hasn't even started yet and this thread is straight fantastic.

Over the last three years, Mac went:

2.99 ERA
141 ERA+
3.60 FIP

Not every pitcher you have is there for important or high leverage situations.

Well if Houston is terrified you might as well call the sweep of the Astros.

If Kluber doesnt dominate it will be so disappointing

Kluber
Miller
Edwin

Was just thinking that 2 of our 3 best outfielders are on the shelf.
I honestly forgot all about Zimmer and Lonnie. Disappointing year for these guys and Zimmer is gonna flame out. Amazing.
