2018 Buckeyes Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So if OSU has the exact same season next year, they go to the Rose Bowl.

You are going to tell me the Rose Bowl is the same as the Citrus Bowl?

Maybe college football isn't for you.

Optimus is the equivalent of a Twitter troll... don't feed him

From ESPN:

Grinch, 37, will fill the 10th assistant's position and be co-defensive coordinator on the Buckeyes' staff. He's originally from Grove City, Ohio and played his college football at Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio. Moving back to Ohio gets Grinch and his wife closer to their families.

Under Grinch's guidance, Washington State finished 74th or better nationally in scoring defense all three seasons. The Cougars were 56th this season. In the three seasons prior to his arrival, Washington State never finished better than 97th nationally and was 117th in scoring defense the year before he came.

The Cougars also ranked fourth nationally in third-down defense this season and have forced 75 turnovers over the last three seasons compared to 59 over the three seasons before Grinch joined Mike Leach in Pullman.

A two-time Broyles Award nominee as the top assistant coach in college football, Grinch was the safeties coach at Missouri for three seasons prior to joining the staff at Washington State.

...

Sounds good to me.

I’d guess that if Schiano gets a head gig that Grinch would slide into DC

As long as Dremont and 2 of Dixon/Campbell/Mclaurin stay, I'll be happy.
I'm focused on the WRs...those guys staying is pretty crucial to this team next season. Dremont would be a loss but that unit is strong enough to overcome it. The WR unit is not even close to that level right now.

I kinda think the opposite. If Jones leaves, then 5 of our top 7 DLineman are gone, whereas Victor, Hill and Mack are already coming back. Granted, maybe the young DLineman are good enough where there won't be as much of a fall off.

Dre'Mont is huge and the coaching staff has put full-court press on for him to stay. He's versatile enough to play DE as well, which is big for our depth. Come Big 10 play, having an anchor at SSDE is a big plus. Then he can slide down to DT on passing downs. Dre'Mont also got caught in the wash a bit with all the depth on DL this year....if he leaves he's likely a second/third rounder. He can absolutely move himself into a top 20 pick if he returns. If Dre'Mont does come back I think you're looking at:

SSDE - Bosa
NT - Landers
DT - Jones
WSDE - Chase Young

But the way LJ Sr. likes to rotate, you'll get a lot of Jones at DE in early down situations. That starting four on paper, is freakish athletically.

FWIW, Bosa semi-aluded to Jones being back next year during an interview prior to USC. Hopefully it holds true.

It is a bit disappointing how little people care about Baker leaving. Disappointing in the sense it shows how poorly he played most of the year. The easiest explanation is he was protecting himself for the draft, but damn, he was out of position all the time. When he flashes, it's exceptional, but he was so undisciplined this year. IMO, the biggest reason we lost 2 games outside of Barrett's struggles.

Agreed about the WR's.
