2018 Cleveland Browns Off Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah, he was.

I know he got hurt...perhaps he hasn't been the same since?

That was 2015. He played all of 2016 and then got paid by the Colts (3 yrs, $30m). Cut after 1 year.

Decent PFF grade and stats for a DT last season. That's the extent of what I know. He's been a free agent since March, seems odd fora guy who is young and seemed decently productive last year?

Just looked back at some old articles and reports from when he was cut. Seemed like the driving force was the Colts switching to a 4-3. Saved them a decent amount of money too.

He made $10m last year and had a pretty decent season. He probably wants something similar to that and that's why he's still available.

Free agent Dez Bryant will visit the Browns on Thursday.
After some volleying through the media, the sides are finally taking their long-awaited meeting. For his part, Bryant said he "wants to be right" before choosing a new home. The time is apparently now. With Josh Gordon's situation still uncertain, the Browns need a body at receiver.

From what I was told, Dez has no desire to play here. That was before the first preseason game so his view of us maaaaaay have changed after watching Tyrod and Landry. I still don’t think he comes here, but I’ve been wrong in the past.

I don't see a problem with signing Dez. I look at him as an red zone target, 3rd down possession receiver, veteran presence, a household name to cheer for, insurance, etc and etc. I'm obviously erasing his off the field antics and rooting for a good story, an good story with the Cleveland Browns.

Was watching his top 10 plays of 2017 and we can certainly use those type of plays.

I'll call it a low risk/high reward. He could get cut anytime. We're not marrying Dez Bryant, just looking for a hot potential date with some benefits.

1 on 1 vs a #3 corner, you seriously wouldn't take Dez in those circumstances?
Nope. I'd rather just throw it up to Njoku. Or do a quick hitter to Landry.

I literally cannot fathom a reason to target Dez on 3rd down or in the redzone instead of targeting those two.

And if those primary options are covered, the other guys we have are way better secondary options than Dez, who won't even run his route if he's not the primary target.

He’s absurdly undervalued here it’s not worth your time.

Same situation as Baker/Barkley... they won’t ever let it go that he’s bad..
I'm pretty sure the guy can handle #3 cornerbacks with ease.

Especially when Gordon, Landry, Njoku, Duke will be on the field as well. Weapons are everywhere. Dez could be that sneaky option that an opposing team hope's to gameplan for but his talent is better than their depth.
