2018 Cleveland Browns Off Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I could see dorsey signing Albert Wilson, slot receiver from Kc. He could be a more cost effective signing than Landry. He's only 5'9 200lbs but I wouldn't rule him out.
Would be a solid signing for not a whole lot of money. Could also draft Christian Kirk and profit in that way too.

Would you guys trade #4 for #21 and #22 from Buffalo?
What about #4 for #21, #53 and #56?
What about if they upped it to #4 for #21, #22, and #56?

The only one close on the trade value chart is 21, 22, and 56.

The top two are automatic grounds for firing.

Usually, teams trading up have to overpay—it’s pretty standard.

Also, in this vain, we have such a young team. You really can only have so many young guys. With 12 picks in this draft already, I’m for quality over quantity.

Or....we could just take a top 5 talent and add it to our roster that is currently devoid of talent.

Only if we then take a QB at 22.

2 issues with this.

We have a ton of picks, a ton of first 3 round picks, they all become free agents at the same time, we are setting up cap hell.

2nd issue, top tallent usually takes a top pick. Stop being cure, we have the picks, use them, rebuild the team, cant kick the can down the road this time.

Only way i make a trade is for 21, 22 and next years first. I doubt the do it, but the next year first is nice because adds a year to the players contract, that said, I think twice about even doing that, too much talent will be there at 4.

quite frankly i think the drop is too much but if they offered 21, 22, and next years first I would include this years 3rd as well

the other one i think would be worth discussing is 35 and 65 for 22. Browns lose a bit of value, but its probably worth it to move up those 13 slots especially if someone is falling

Yeah, just cannot trade down this year. Too much talent at the top of this draft and we have our pick of the litter. And for an 0-16 team that clearly needs to start winning some games....yeah.

Only way I'm trading down is a Kings ransom or a with a team right below us (Giants for example) and we know we will still be getting our guy.

I agree, the only way to trade down from 1 is if you get Cousin and the guy you want will be there at 4, or the pick you trade back and you get a ton. It would take Denver or the Jets offering this years 1st, 2nd, next years 1st and 2nd to even think about it.

I think as a rule going forward that should be something the Browns avoid.

If you finish in the top 10? don't trade down. If it's player for player (like eli for rivers)? Sure. But I've just never seen it work out in any other circumstance. You can say "Well, the Browns", but even the Rams when they did it? It didn't pan out:

It's stupid. Take a blue chipper. Punting a Julio Jones for what would up becoming Phil Taylor (a solid starter, but a type of guy who's production you've found later on), Greg Little and fucking Brandon Weeden? Holy hell. Don't.
