2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You can't NOT take Barkley at this point.

He's a sure fire star, and we need sure fire stars.

Barkley or bust.

Sam Darnold is making it really easy for him to come back, too.

Hes been real bad this year.

There's more than one way to build a playoff/good team, and I think we shouldn't get tunnel vision about quarterbacks in this draft.

I've yet to really be impressed with any of these QB's yet sans for Rosen for the A&M comeback or Lamar Jackson in his Heisman season last year.

He's in the conversation. Also? NO. TRADE. DOWNS. If this guy is available...you take him.

Yeah, Darnold has been awful. He needs to stay.

Yikes. A few months ago this QB class looked great. Now...you got a better version of Manziel (Rosen), a worse version of Manziel (Mayfield), and Lamar Jackson.

Unless Rosen separates himself, Lamar is QB1 for me.
At this point, I'm certain Lamar Jackson is the guy I want if we have #1 this year.

Man, I don't know. I'm a HUGE Lamar fan, but I'm just not totally convinced yet he's #1 overall pick material.

I'm on the Derwin James train right now, but I want to wait for the season & combine to play out before I choose between those two. Not to mention, see if there is any way Kizer shows something before season's end, (which I seriously doubt).

The beauty of picking Kizer in the late 2nd is that you can move on from him if you think Jackson is that QB1 of the future. Hell, let Kizer play next year while Jackson is learning behind him.

Lamar's bust rate is through the ceiling

That pick has trouble written all over it

Highly doubt if this front office is around that he's the QB they would pick anyway

Seriously don't see what people see in Lamar. Like at all

Lamar Jackson has always been QB1 in this class since last season. Just like Watson was clearly QB1. People have been spending more time trying to discredit Lamar than accept what is clear as day.

Keep an eye on "underrated" Ryan Finley outta NC State these next 2 weeks.

This week: @ #9 ND
Next week: vs #7 CLEM

He has his team at #14 in the nation right now. Stat line:

7 games (bye last week)
1968 YDS / 11 TD / 0 INT / 1 rush TD (he's no scrambler)

Their past 4 wins have been:

@FSU
vs SYR
vs LOU
@PITT

These next 2 weeks will be huge for this QB. If he comes out firing against ND/CLEM, this could possibly mean we can use our #1 on someone other than a QB (unless whoever is drafting for us falls in love with Lamar/Rosen) and then snag this kid with our second 1st or later. But if he has 2 good games against these 2, then his name will be all over.

Arm talent. He opens up your playbook more than any of these other QB's. He's going to be one of the fastest players on the field the day he steps into the NFL. His accuracy needs to improve but it's not horrible. He has the strongest arm. He's mobile in the pocket. He can evade the defense. When he runs he's the most dynamic player on the field.

I'm not saying he's going to last a long time running in the NFL or that he should run a lot. I'm saying in the NFL today you need to have a QB who can be mobile and he would be the best from day one.
