2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This place has become toxic for debate.

To think that if a guy has a good combine we can't talk about that because other posters think they suck. The culture here is becoming ultra poor.

This thread is a cluster fuck, just do as I did and stop following it.

Then start a thread where you can discuss the same guy over and over for the next two months.

Shit, agree to disagree and move on.

Oh by no means do I not want to debate it. That is the reason behind forums. And in all honesty, I HOPE Barkley/Mayfield measure/perform great at the combine. That is only going to make our selection/options better.

I just meant it is going to be "awesome" because of the Barkley/Mayfield (or for that matter any QB not named Rosen) people vs. the Rosen/any other RB besides Barkley people.

Anyone think Jamarco Jones could be in play for our future lt? Seems like a third round guy we could pick up if we didn't draft one in the first two rounds. It looks like a deep class and anyone that we drafted would benefit from sitting and learning behind Joe.

He's technically sound, but isn't going to wow anyone with measurables. Just going to be a very good player for someone and a possible long-term starter.

Wouldn't hate that value at all in late round 2 or into the third.

Yeah, I didn't want to show my osu bias, but I thought he would just be a solid starter for years and where the Browns could get him seems like a good value.

What are your thoughts on fitz playing mostly free safety in the nfl? His nfl.com bio has his player comparison as budda baker, who I thought was a good safety prospect, but I think he plays more nickel back than safety.

I know he filled in for Jackson when he went down at fs, but I worry that he might not be that prospect you just pencil in for fs and leave it at that. If he needs a year or so to develop into a free safety, wouldn't it be better (or at least the effort) to see if he can develop into an outside corner? I guess at that point you might as well take a guy you know can play outside corner.

I don't really like the value of Fitz as a free safety only.

In the slot is his best position. He plays the run and sets edges so well that it's an enormous impact on the run game.

If they're going to take him as a FS, I'd rather take someone else at 4 and then take Justin Reid, DeShon Elliot or Bates after the first round if those guys show the tests to match the film.

I think playing him so far off the ball is a miss in terms of getting the most out of his skillset.

92.3 the fan said Darnold is the fan favorite for the number 1 pick in the draft at 46%. More confirmation that the Cleveland fan base is the dumbest in all of football. Last season Darnold threw 13 interceptions and lost 9 fumbles. He fumbled a total of 12 times. Conversely Mayfield threw 6 picks and lost a grand total of zero fumbles. Mayfield completed over 70% of his passes and had 41 touchdown passes. Darnold had a paltry 26 touchdown passes and a completion % less than 65%. Scrambling and overall running ability showed Mayfield miles and miles ahead of the slow footed Darnold.

Yeah...draft a shitty quarterback with the overall number one. Nothing like having another Kizer like turnover machine running the offense. The asinine idiotic Browns fan base has spoken.

This is where I'm at too, if you're drafting him to be a CB and think he has the skills to be a shut down CB, don't get cute and take him at 4. If you think he's a FS, I think you can start to entertain other options at 4 and look to address the FS spot later or perhaps address it in FA.

Watson as I've seen other posters point out threw 17 interceptions as a senior. He would have won ROY at the pace he was going on, never want to see a guy go down but lucky for us it was this year. Just because a guy has a high TD:INT ratio does not make him a sure thing, Tebow, Moore, Harrell, last two are great examples I saw brought up by posters earlier in the thread, Harrell was made by Crabtree.
