2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think you take Rosen first as a no brainer. I like the idea of Chubb, but could live with barkley.. if there was a decent 6,5 reciever in this mix , he would be on my list at 4. The rest, you look for gems where you find them..

You can't play those 3 guys at once?

I mean, yeah, it was a question. We can't start Garrett, Ogbah, and Chubb together? I'm asking

Yeah, sorry I didn't mean to sound snarky. I think the qb thread is making everything sound toxic. But this was kinda the point I was bringing up earlier. In obvious passing downs you can throw all three on the line and let them wreak havoc on qbs.

I just don't know how often that happens and I don't know how often teams are drafting guys to move from defensive end to tackle. Feel like you would need a different body type and skill set. I would trade back and take hurst if we're talking about playing all three defensive ends at the same time all the time.

I think you can. It doesn't really matter about "starting" if they get the majority of the snaps anyways.

The Eagles have probably the most talented defensive line in football. They added Michael Bennett to that. They'll probably draft another guy to put on the line. Good coaches find a way to maximize their talent. If we can't get Myles, Ogbah, Chubb, Larry O, Brantley to play together then it's a huge indictment on the coaching staff not the players.

What about that scenario where we end up with picks 1, 6, and 12 in the first? QB, Ward/Fitz, and Hurst maybe? (Dunno how realistic that scenario was- had us trading back to 22 and then back up to 12)

Not sure if those prospects fit at each of those respective spots.

The Browns have just picked shitty players. Other teams have tried to develop them (Trent, Weeden, Mingo, Gilbert, Quinn, Wimbley) and they were still shitty. The Browns have been awful at evaluating and picking players.

Yeah, I agree- there is this narrative that the Browns have "ruined" players the truth is they just selected shittastic players. Period. I can't think of one guy that left the Browns and went elsewhere and thrived. Maybe a couple who did decently.

An easier thing to do would be to see if they lived up to their draft slot. The only ones that comes close is Sheard, Mack, and Schwartz but even then those were all good picks at the time.

SO Myles first sack was when he lined up at DT.

In a 4-3, you have options on your interior defensive lineman and their skill set. Ogbah is listed at 275lb and might come in a bit heavier than that this year. To compare, the Eagles run a 4-3 also and their starting RDT is Tim Jernigan at 295lbs.

I am not sure you start Ogbah at DT, but you can change things up, even in non passing downs, and really put pressure on the O-Line and ultimately the Qb by having so many speed guys in at once. Further Ogbah and Chubb are very good ends against the run and should translate just fine to some snaps at DT in a stunting defense. It will be very disruptive and even more so if we didnt play our Free Safety 80 yards off the ball.
