From a 1,000 foot view, Mejia is a steep price to pay... But when you consider that you're getting not one, but two relievers under club control + Mejia having a bit of a down year... it makes me feel a little better?
Wow. It took Mejia to get two relievers? I'm familiar with Hand, he's really good as far as I know, but don't know much on the other guy. Please tell me this was worth it?
Tribe bullpen just went from weakness to a strength. Cimber, Hand, Miller (if healthy) and Allen is strong. Bumps Perez and Ramirez back to even lower leverage spots. That's huge, IMO.
Losing Mejia really stings, especially since he's probably starting in a corner OF next year for us in the (likely) event we lose Brantley and Chisenhall.
On the other hand, we added an elite arm with 2.5-3.5 years of team control and an affordable contract. Adam Cimber is a nice add for this year. He's a rookie and variance for relievers can vary from year to year so hard to know exactly what he's going to be in coming years.
