2018 Trade Deadline

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
From a 1,000 foot view, Mejia is a steep price to pay... But when you consider that you're getting not one, but two relievers under club control + Mejia having a bit of a down year... it makes me feel a little better?

It’s tough to give up Mejia; but they only gave up Mejia to add two huge additions to the bullpen.

This doesn’t hurt the minor league depth, but adds to the major league depth. I like it.

Just a couple days ago some on here were saying there’s no way they’re giving up Mejia for relievers period.. Controllable or non controllable...

So in that case the thought here is the Indians lost the trade ?

Getting a 2-for-1 makes this deal a bit easier to swallow for Mejia.

At least to me. But Mejia is going to hit, and he's going to hit very very well.

Wow. It took Mejia to get two relievers? I'm familiar with Hand, he's really good as far as I know, but don't know much on the other guy. Please tell me this was worth it?

Two relievers under control with the probable departure of at least one of Allen or Miller coming up?

I’ll pay that price. We’ve seen what happens when you don’t have enough reliable arms for late innings.

Go get a bat and let’s win the whole fucking thing.

Losing Mejia really stings, especially since he's probably starting in a corner OF next year for us in the (likely) event we lose Brantley and Chisenhall.

On the other hand, we added an elite arm with 2.5-3.5 years of team control and an affordable contract. Adam Cimber is a nice add for this year. He's a rookie and variance for relievers can vary from year to year so hard to know exactly what he's going to be in coming years.

So Hand can be under control through the end of the 2021 season and Climber is just a rookie(ie 5-6 more years of team control)?

And how good is Climber?
