2018 Trade Deadline

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was guessing it’d take way more than Shane Bieber.

Bryce Harper is so fucking overrated in my opinion. Is he a good ballplayer? Sure. But he's now having his second bad year in the past three seasons. He's kind of a cocky douche and he definitely thinks he is way better than he is.

Would I take him for a few months? Sure, but I sure as hell am not giving up anything noteworthy just for the Yankees to offer him the Queens and half of Manhattan this winter.

Guy's swing is looking like swiss cheese this year with all the holes it has in it. There are easily 20-25 outfielders having a better and more impactful season than Bryce Harper this year.

.370 OBP, would rank 2nd on an already high powered offense. 84 walks, would rank 1st, .840 OPS, would rank 3rd and ahead of Brantley who's been having an awesome season.

HRs, RBIs, they obviously come, I'm more interested in other stats. His batting average is shitty, but come on lol. Saw an earlier post comparing him to Kipnis...no reason to even go there.

We aren't going to give up Bieber, McKenzie etc for Harper, which is what the nationals are asking for at the end of the day!

Negotiations start very high and tend to dip down at middle ground, McKenzie is absolutely pushing it. However, i would consider Bieber though. If you can sit there and tell me acquiring Harper would increase our WS odds, I'm all for it. When you have unique players like Lindor and Ramirez, and a awesome staff without Bieber, we should live for the moment.

Bryce is indeed an rental and Nats can't be asking for our top 2 arms. Like I said, they're aiming high, but we can talk them down by still offering Bieber.

I want a World Series. We have an golden opportunity for a few more years, losing Bieber won't really effect that. Most people didn't even know who Bieber was prior to this summer breakout.

Did we get Harper yet? Time's a wastin'

Lindor--27 HRs, 67 RBIs, .366 OBP, .930 OPS
Harper--25 HRs, 62 RBIs, .370, .842
Ramirez--32 HRs, 76 RBIs, .405, 1.030
Brantley--12 HRs, 57 RBIs, .345, .815
Eddie--23 HRs, 73 RBIs, .323, .800

Harper would 100% be a rental and is having a down year. Why trade a top prospect for him? It’s not like hes having an mvp type year and would clearly put us over the edge. A .220 average isn’t helping putting us over the top

Would absolutely be an all in move. It's still very highly unlikely, but why even discuss Harper in the first place if you're the Indians? You have to know already the Nats are expecting 1 big time prospect, is it just an PR stunt to add your name to the Harper sweepstakes?

Something that also gets forgotten, we'll have Bryce for a few months of the season plus October, all while he's playing for a big time contract. I'll sell my soul and trade Shane Bieber for a World Series.

By the way, since when is 30+ HRs, 80+ RBIs a down year?

He's been hitting better since the start of the second half but still striking out at an alarming rate. Will still be very surprised if Washington moves him.
