ALOT of people are saying the Cavs stole Porter and he’s the best pick of the first round. That was a real nice move by the Cavs’ front office.
This one thing about the NBA draft that really blows my mind..I saw the Bucks made the pick and proposed trade to the Cavs but the Cavs made the deal with the Pistons..I never saw the details at all..

They need to change it, it's a mess..you don't get any details, this team drafts a player for another team..then trades that player to another team..those trades should be announced before the pick is made. They were talking about that on Golic and Wingo this morning. The NBA draft has become a farce, with not being able to announce trades during the draft. In some cases, picks had even been moved twice, as was the case with the Bucks picking Porter.
I wish the NBA could model after the NFL draft and announce trades prior to picks being made. It definitely adds a layer of excitement.
You’re right. Thank God for guys like Woj or none of it would make any sense at all. They need to change it, it's a mess..you don't get any details, this team drafts a player for another team..then trades that player to another team..those trades should be announced before the pick is made.
Add to this from you saw:You’re right. Thank God for guys like Woj or none of it would make any sense at all.
My understanding is they have to wait until the salary cap resets, for the new league year, and they can start making trades again, on 7/6. At that time, the Milwaukee/Detroit trade will be announced and then the Detroit-Cleveland trade will be announced.Add to this from you saw:
"The Pistons had acquired the pick and guard Tony Snell from the Milwaukee Bucks for Jon Leuer in a trade that was agreed upon a day earlier, deputy commissioner Mark Tatum announced at the draft. The Bucks made the pick for the Cavaliers on Thursday night in New York. "
So if Detroit owned the pick how do the Bucks make the selection instead of Detroit ,even if the trade isn't announced????
Am I missing something?
I see these trades all the time and it confuses me.
That said, I would love to watch a buddy movie starting Windler and Porter traveling cross country in a VW van, one in search of love, the other running from the mob.
