2019 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Honestly, eventually there will be a too small and not sure Kyler isn't it. Baker measured a bit over 6 feet, closer to 6'1", while 6'3" is prototypical, that real isn't far off, at 5'10. that is another al most 3 inches shorter.

I just think Baker is a bad comparison for a "short" qb because he is not that short. Wilson is the best comp and he is still an inch taller at 5'11. Now that is a tough QB to live up to as he is a top 3 or so qb in the league. I would say right now if you take out the seniors (Brees and Brady) we have Mahommes, Wilson, Rodgers, then the next group is Baker, Luck and some others.

My point is the NFL is a copy cat league, but hoping for Wilson level success is a huge gamble. Just not that high on Kyler, but of course I could be wrong

Oh he is definitely a huge gamble. I say this based on # of starts alone, let alone other potential concerns - baseball, big 12 defenses, height, etc.

He absolutely needs a good coaching staff and some patience. I think he gets good, but these guys always all seem amazing, and the odds are that they aren’t.

This is pretty cool: according to some random stat, we are one of 2 teams with no needs or pressing needs.

I do think Dorsey wants a LT. I would think that would be pretty important given what we have in Baker.

The Browns are in a position to go best player available. I do agree the Browns have a few positions with stopgap veterans and poor depth, and both safety and tackle fall under that category.

And Linebacker.

And Linebacker.

Depends on how well they secure Joe Schobert this offseason. Kirksey is under contract two more years and they want to see if Avery can play Will this year. Adarius Taylor is a solid fourth linebacker.

Really no pressing issue aside from Greg Robinson on a prove it contract and a few retreads at strong safety.

I don't think Kirksey sees the end of his contract, Avery was nice as a pass rusher, and could become a very good starter, but at this point a huge question mark, Schobert is a must keep even if the money comes from cutting Kirksey.

We need more depth at LB for sure, but I think we are on about the same page.

I’m eager to see how the LB play is affected by three factors:

1. New scheme coach

2. Greatly improved overall talent across the DL. Richardson and Vernon are big time upgrades over Ogbah and whoever we trotter our next to Ogunjobi as the second DT last year.

3. Health. Hopefully both Schobert and Kirksey make it through the entire regular season playing 15 or 16 games.

I’m also curious about the play of TJ Carrie this year. We heard from Raiders fans that he is not a good camp/practice player. Thought he started the year shaky but at least on an eye test level, felt like he came on stronger in the second half of the season.

All that said, of course I do look forward to presumed additions to the CB and LB room via the draft.

Scho was clearly injured last year.

It should also be noted that Blake Williams probably didn't deserve to be an NFL coach. He was a terrible coordinator, and it's not a guess what his coaching position was here. I think Scho and Kirksey are going to be absolutely fine this coming season.

That being said, Kirksey is almost certainly gone next year. Schobert deserves that money and the linebacker position is one where you can sacrifice players given the current focus on the passing game across the NFL.

Pretty sure Blake Williams was the LB coach in 2017 too.

And Schobert was the only good player that year too, although he still missed a lot of tackles.

The linebackers, in particular Kirksey and Collins, both nose dived in their play since Blake Williams took over the LB'ers.

Would rather wait for Rennell Wren than take Dre'Mont just because he's a Buckeye.

Sucks to see Savage rise so much but I haven't seen a ton of buzz on Adderley recently. He could be a good option in the 2nd.

Trade up for Dillard makes a lot of sense too.

Excited to see what we pull off!

I know I’m a honk but I really don’t care:

Terry McLaurin is going to be a very good receiver in this league. He’s a guy you want on your football team.

Culture changer.

We wont have a shot at him unless we move up, but I do like him allot.

Question, do you use Duke to move up in the early 2nd to get him? He is a talent but on our team, is a WR a real difference maker?
