2019 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think we're looking at Rodriguez and Anderson as first ups, although if Anderson can't be stretched out quickly enough Wojiwhatsisname could get s shot first.

We need a starter on the 7th, I don't think Anderson is ready yet to be honest to start 5-6 innings.

Karinchak is going to be in Cleveland soon if he keeps this up.

Nothing in play last night. 1IP, 0H 1BB, 3K

He misses so many bats.

I'm really interested to see some of these young guys get shots in our bullpen. I like different deliveries out of the bullpen. I think Karinchak's herky jerky delivery is a nice little bonus on top of his swing and miss stuff.

Dying to get this kid healthy.

He’s missing precious time.

Edit: Tweet deleted, but George Valera is taking BP after a knee injury has kept him out thus far.

He’s had the injury bug.

Robert Broom is another guy. He’s still at Lynchburg, but he’s been missing a ton of bats down there.

What adjustments has Karinchak made to lead to this quick rise in the organizational ranks?

Nothing out of the ordinary, IMO.

Some guys just need refinement.

Coming out of Bryant, he had a natural feel for the hammer curve he’s refined even further.

He was mostly a starter there, so you see the fastball get more life as a bullpen guy.

Guy made like two appearances in the Cape and got noticed, pretty good testament to the scouting staff on this guy pulling him out of a smaller school and seeing the back end potential.

He’s got high end closer potential.

Is bringing him up this summer before the roster expansion too accelerated or is he already on that path with the promotion to AAA?

I think he’ll be in Cleveland by July at this rate.

They gave him 20 innings at AA. If his numbers stay consistent at AAA I’d expect him to be up after 14-20 innings.

Leaves him about 20-30 innings left on the year he could provide them with “in the event of” a playoff run.

Do you think the org has an innings cap in mind for him overall for the entire season?

Threw 48 last year, I’d imagine he won’t throw more than 50-60 this year.

He actually only had 10 innings at AA btw, but either way, it should still leave him with a fair amount of innings if he does make it to the big league club. The 20+ strikeouts per 9 innings is ridiculous at the end of the day. He had what 15ish last year and now is in the 20s. It will be hard pressed to keep this kid out of bigs.

Pretty sure he was adding in last year’s AA experience.

He did, in fact, pitch 20.1 innings in AA before his promotion.

Was counting his 10IP from last year as well.

Ideally he’d have equal reps at the next level before coming up.
